We're totally waving at you!
Hi, Autoboty! Welcome aboard!

Welcome to TFWiki.net, one of the foremost resources on all things Transformers! If you're new, we recommend you read through our help documentation before you start editing. Here's some links to specific areas of interest:

This will help you understand how TFWiki.net works, and help ease you into our odd little place. Once you feel you're accustomed, feel free to remove this message!

Welcome to TFWiki! Jalaguy 09:02, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

Yes, welcome, although I did notice that you're having trouble using wikilinks and templates. I also noticed that you tend to make frequent edits on some pages to correct minor mistakes. You can wikilink using brackets [[like this]], and you should use the "Show preview" button so you can spot for and correct mistakes while editing. Ultimately, I do recommend that you read the various articles linked above to get the hang of things here. Inkblot 09:18, 26 March 2013 (EDT)

Hey! Help:Editing should provide you with some tips on formatting links, however notes that start out "X is the first" or "X is not the first" should generally be avoided for a number of reasons (circumstances sometimes change and the note becomes inaccurate, for instance). --abates (talk) 00:12, 3 January 2015 (EST)

Please use the Preview button when making numerous small changes to a single page, using "Save page" only after all your changes are made. This way, you don't clutter the Recent Changes page with a ton of tiny little edits.

Creating pages

[edit]

Hi, just dropping by with a couple of pieces of advice about creating new articles. Firstly, intro paragraphs should always be written 'in-universe' - that is, "Rook is this and that" rather than "We know this and that about Rook." Also, please remember to categorise articles. The easiest way to do this is to check what categories a similar page is in. For Rook, for example, I copy-pasted categories from Alpha Bravo, another new-character Combiner Wars Autobot. Thanks! A few things...

[edit]

Your snark and side comments need to be reduced in both your write-ups and edit summaries. While we are more informal than other wikis, the jokes mustn't get in the way of actual information. Inserting yet another "to sell toys" joke not only breaks the flow of information, but that joke's been unfunny for a long time now. Also, while the occasional edit summary comment is fine, it is not necessary to voice your opinion on every single summary. It's annoying.

In addition, try not to pothole links when you can just rewrite that portion to directly refer to said link.

Finally, you mentioned that you wanted to upload some pics? Well, if you look at your Toolbox at the bottom-left corner of the screen, you'll see a button called "Upload file"...

(Just don't upload a buttload of them. Cherry-pick the ones that are most informative, such as shots depicting the venue, and ones focusing on possible toy displays and statues, etc. Then you'll need to resize them so that their dimensions and file size aren't too big. Make sure they're JPGs!)

Hope this helps. --Inkblot (talk) 12:40, 3 March 2015 (EST)

Shining Optimus Prime

[edit]

We have no evidence of Takara's Shining Optimus Prime being released outside of Japan. Are you thinking of Dark Energon Optimus Prime? --Monzo (talk) 23:08, 15 April 2015 (EDT)

TFWiki isn't a discussion board

[edit]
Yeah, yeah--save it for the message boards!

This wiki is a reference document, not a chatroom. The Talk pages are for discussing how to improve the wiki. The User Talk pages are for requesting and receiving advice (and admonishments) about how to improve the wiki. They're not for random fandom chatting.

If you want to discuss Transformers with like-minded fans, we recommend Seibertron.com, Transformer World 2005, The Allspark, or our Discord.

Wiki talk pages are for discussing the article itself, and how to improve it, not for discussing the article's subject matter. If you want to talk about the issue with other Transformers fans, please visit a web forum like those linked in the above template. Thank you. Jalaguy (talk) 07:34, 11 June 2015 (EDT)

Bumblebee film images

[edit]

Please refrain from rushing to put up images from new trailers, especially if they have a watermark on it. Saix (talk) 12:49, 6 June 2018 (EDT)

Tagging images!

[edit]

Please tag images using categories and templates when uploading them. A list can be found here. Thanks! notirishman (talk) 20:59, 13 August 2018 (EDT)

This notice means we think less of you.
I belong to NOBODY!

You've been uploading a lot of images without properly tagging the source or the relevant copyrights. Please see our Image Policy on how to do this properly.

Once again, please tag your pictures with the correct category, template, and the like. A list can be found here. Be sure to provide a proper description with credit, in the case of comic book images. And please check if the image was put up on the wiki. --notirishman (talk) 12:02, 23 February 2019 (EST)

An elaboration on this, mostly with your picture of the Netflix Soundwave toy, please update the image description with the source of the images, since right now it only has the stock photo template --notirishman (talk) 15:18, 17 January 2021 (EST)

Your edits on "Transformers: One"

Stillness... then strike!

Please use the Preview button when making numerous small changes to a single page, using "Save page" only after all your changes are made. This way, you don't clutter the Recent Changes page with a ton of tiny little edits.

Please slow down on your edits at TF One by using the "Show preview" button before you hit "Save page". Or type up what you want to add first on a Notepad, copy-paste it here, "Show preview", then hit "Save page." That way, we're not seeing a number of micro-edits on the Recent Changes page. --Lonegamer78 (talk) 03:46, 21 September 2024 (EDT)

Wingstun

[edit]

I agree that it looks like him, and my original joke looks pretty stupid now, but where was it confirmed that it was actually Wingstun. I don't disagree, I just can't find it anywhere and am curious which artist confirmed it. AwkButTf (talk) 15:25, 14 November 2024 (EST)

Here is the twitter post and comment from which I got the name. Autoboty (talk) 18:56, 14 November 2024 (EST)
