While we're not going to revert your changes to the RID characters for now, please don't make unilateral formatting decisions across multiple articles like that without consulting anyone. While we already did so for RID Optimus and Megatron articles, that decision was made as a result of Car Robots taking place in the G1 continuity, and was meant to avoid reader confusion in writeups about stories where they interact with the originals. This sort of thing really should have been discussed prior, and continuing to make widespread changes without soliciting other editors' thoughts first may merit a temporary block from editing. - Where do I get clearance for such things then? I added the original character names to make it more convenient for people trying to research the characters than having to scroll all the way to the bottom of each character article to get their Japanese name if they watched Car Robots instead. I only did it for Car Robots/ RID01 because of how different both dubs are. I have no plans for doing this for the UT shows as they were first aired in English before being dubbed for the Japanese shows.
- We are and have always been an English-centric wiki. Character write-ups do not include alt-region names in the middle of the opening paragraph, it doesn't match our style and ends up now making RID01 look artificially different from every other series we cover. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 22:17, 29 October 2025 (EDT)
- It would have been preferred that you ask on the talk page for Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2001 franchise), for example, or the Community portal. The talk pages exist to discuss and suggest changes exactly like this. Furthermore, readers don't need to scroll all the way down; we already made a template used across all the RID character articles that sticks a big note right at the start of their Japanese fiction sections that note their Japanese name and the dub continuity discrepancy. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 22:19, 29 October 2025 (EDT)
