Toy section

[edit]

What about a section on toys that turn into video games? There were a few Real Gear Robots and that PlayStation Prime and possibly a few others I'm forgetting. --Khajidha (talk) 13:09, 17 February 2019 (EST)

I know of PSPrime, Gen/MD Megatron, and even a few BotBots, but I worry about it starting to dilute the page's purpose. If the demand is there, though, I can add a section. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 22:50, 17 February 2019 (EST)
I decided to add one just to see how it would look. Worth retaining, or too excessive? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 16:10, 20 February 2019 (EST)

Stuff still to do

[edit]

Okay, the page is getting close to completion. I still need to wikilink a lot of things, and add some more pictures throughout the article. Ideally, I'd like to get a new mainpic too; while Marvel #24's cover fits for the fiction section, I don't know if it necessarily works at the top since most of the article is about actual products. If someone has a bunch of TF games that they can take a picture of, that would be ideal, but that might be too much to ask for. Besides all that, anything else that can/should be done? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 23:01, 17 February 2019 (EST)

...official game guides? That might be a column to add to the tables at the far right. Just leave the box blank if they ain't got one. --M Sipher (talk) 23:10, 17 February 2019 (EST)
Oh, and maybe in the mobile game one, a final column for "still available", perhaps. Some of these games are still running, unbelievably... --M Sipher (talk) 23:19, 17 February 2019 (EST)
I'd be open to a guides column if not for the fact that we currently only have one strategy guide article (Mystery of Convoy). Maybe that's something to add down the line if someone writes up more guide articles, but as it is now, I'm not sure its inclusion is justified. As for mobile games, though, I definitely think marking which ones are still available and which have been delisted is a good idea. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 23:28, 17 February 2019 (EST)
I'm all for adding redlinks to pages that should exist. At least showing we're aware of them could get them made quicker. --M Sipher (talk) 23:41, 17 February 2019 (EST)
Fair enough, but you or someone else will have to pull the list of guides together since I wouldn't know where to start looking. Plus there's apparently a bunch of mobile games not on the list that I need to add in the meantime. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 23:49, 17 February 2019 (EST)
Okay, so doing some cursory searches, I found the aforementioned Mystery of Convoy guide; Brady guides for '07, RoTF, WFC and FoC; a Prima guide for Armada; and this DVD guide for Armada which I had NO idea was even a thing. Is that all of them? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:49, 18 February 2019 (EST)
It's entirely possible there might be something for the Japanese games, but I think that's most of them at the very least. --M Sipher (talk) 01:19, 18 February 2019 (EST)
Cool. I've added the column on (only for the console games, since there don't seem to be official guides for any other category), but I leave it to your discretion whether it should be tweaked further. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 01:49, 18 February 2019 (EST)
I've been thinking about adding columns for developers and publishers. Would that be too much detail, or is it worth pursuing? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 13:58, 19 February 2019 (EST)
I think it would be too much detail for this article. This should be more of the "broad strokes", the more minor stuff should stay on the pages for the individual games.--Khajidha (talk) 14:00, 19 February 2019 (EST)
Okay, I think this is as good as it's going to get, so I've migrated most of the content over. I'm going to hang on to the toy section in case someone thinks that's worth including as well, but for the most part, I think we can consider this page complete. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 21:57, 20 February 2019 (EST)
