Welcome to the wiki! However, we don't put characters's foreign names on their disambiguation pages; there's a "foreign names" section at the bottom of each character's article for that. (See here for an example.)
For future reference, mass changes to numerous pages, like adding foreign names to disambiguation pages, shouldn't be done without some sort of discussion. You can click on the "discussion" tab on any page to go to that article's talk page, where you can raise any questions, comments and concerns that you may have. There's also the Community Portal, which is where discussion of site-wide policies (such as, say, not putting foreign names on disambiguation pages) should go. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 21:04, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
TFU.info images
[edit]Please don't take other sites' images, especially TFU.info's, and slap a TFWIKI watermark on them. They are not our content and it's crass when the toy photos are the entire point of their sites. Saix (talk) 14:34, 24 May 2016 (EDT)
- I've found pictures like that at "File:Powerlinx_blackout_info.jpg" and "File:Energon_prowl_longarm_info.jpg". Did TFU even give permission for this site to use them? If they did I'd assume they wouldn't want another site's name on it instead of their's. Item42 (talk) 14:49, 24 May 2016 (EDT)
And on that note there's some other images from other fansites that I can't tell whether there was permission for.Item42 (talk) 14:56, 24 May 2016 (EDT)
Should we create the page [[Mr Hard Hat]]?
[edit]Why would we need to? --Khajidha (talk) 14:38, 18 July 2016 (EDT)
Do train toys go on toy railway tracks eg Hornby? (hence that page)
[edit]Why was my Gigatron (disambiguation) edit reverted?
[edit]Because you don't insert random nonsense into a disambiguation page. A disambiguation page is to disambiguate. --ItsWalky (talk) 03:03, 31 July 2016 (EDT)
Can I redirect via foreign names? (did one)
[edit]Generally not done. --Khajidha (talk) 14:39, 18 July 2016 (EDT)
Can we say the Transformers franchise is a British-American-Japanese thing?
[edit]Should we add subheadings to the cartoon continuity pages to add typographic variety?
[edit]How do I make a bigger wiki contribution?
[edit]Pictures in toy listing charts
[edit]You need to be more careful with inserting pictures into the toy listing charts. I suggest you carefully look at the existing ones before further editing, as if pictures aren't placed exactly in the code properly, it can mess up the entire layout. --M Sipher (talk) 03:42, 27 October 2016 (EDT)
"Major Characters"
[edit]This formatting isn't used if there's only one sorta popular example. Energon Roadblock or G1 Straxus do not warrant this. Saix (talk) 14:09, 2 November 2016 (EDT)
- Um... actually, yes. It can be if the singular example is big enough. Out of a list of a half-dozen Cheetors, I think the guy who was a major character in five years of toys and cartoons (and then off and on in later stuff) certainly merits putting above the others and pointing out. "Downshift", no. "Thunderwing"? Yes. --M Sipher (talk) 15:25, 2 November 2016 (EDT)
That image you marked with the move template
[edit]You could probably just go ahead and move that to a better filename to be honest. Moving images isn't that big of a deal, I do it all the time.
It's nice if you change all the links to it to match the new filename and then mark the leftover redirect for deletion too, though you don't technically have to. -Foffy (talk) 16:28, 1 November 2018 (EDT)
Criticism sections
[edit]"Criticism" sections for series are for discussing fandom-wide reactions and/or objective incompetence in the production (e.g. Energon). They're not a place for you to mouth off about your personal opinions on a series. Jalaguy (talk) 15:54, 31 January 2019 (EST)
Image uploads
[edit]Please be careful what sources you use when uploading new images. Your Armada screencaps, for example, have all been artificially stretched to 16:9 when the show was animated in 4:3, and several still have the Cartoon Network watermark. The cleaner the image, the better. Also, please watch the file sizes of the images you upload. For bandwidth reasons, we try to keep most of our images (especially episode screencaps) at 150kb or less. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 08:32, 11 February 2019 (EST)
- Also, if you're going to move an image to a new filename, please make sure you update any links to the old filename and mark it for deletion so it can be removed. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 09:19, 14 February 2019 (EST)
- Honestly, you may want to cut back on the screencaps for the individual episodes. It's getting to the point where the number of images is stretching well past the point where the article text has already stopped. We really don't need THAT many per episode. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:55, 18 February 2019 (EST)
I genuinely appreciate you filling in images for the articles that need them, but please please PLEASE find some better video sources! It's kind of counterproductive if I have to go in and upload a better quality version of every new image, and being able to get good enough quality on the first go would make things so much easier for both of us. At the very least, you can get most of the English-language shows on Tubi in good quality, and the Japanese G1 shows all got localized DVD releases, save for Scramble City and Zone. Thanks! -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 11:44, 12 June 2020 (EDT)
Leaked information
[edit]Please stop adding the Walmart exclusives to pages; they have yet to be officially revealed and you need to be more diligent in checking sources. Saix (talk) 12:32, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- Sorry, I didn’t realise they weren’t officially revealed yet. Doomdorm64 (talk) 12:42, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
Adding Japanese names
[edit]Please don't add them if you can't actually read them. ガード is not "Guardian" and you seem to constantly go off bad translations. Saix (talk) 11:17, 4 June 2024 (EDT)
- Okay, does Takara use the same naming from Hasbro? Thanks, I'll be more careful in the future. Doomdorm64 (talk) 11:26, 4 June 2024 (EDT)
Commentary
[edit]Please stop adding commentary like this or this. Saix (talk) 10:31, 11 February 2025 (EST)
- And don't make up redirects ("Batbreast") for the sake of a joke. Saix (talk) 11:51, 11 February 2025 (EST)
Stop doing this. Saix (talk) 17:35, 2 February 2026 (EST)
Nemesis and Nemesis Prime are not the same character
[edit]Nemesis (ship) and Nemesis Prime (Black Convoy) are not the same character. Please stop putting figures of Nemesis Prime on the Nemesis page. -- StrawDeath (talk) 15:57, 6 May 2026 (BST)
I've since been made aware that ML Nemesis Prime in particular actually does belong on that page due to the content of its bio. As far as I know however, my point still stands for Nemesis Star Convoy. -- StrawDeath (talk) 16:16, 6 May 2026 (BST)
As someone has pointed out, Nemesis Star Convoy is highly likely to appear in the next issue of End of G1 Universe representing the same Nemesis (ship)-originated character as ML Nemesis Prime. So unless it somehow turns out to be an entirely different character, this whole situation has just been me being an idiot, and both figures deserve to be featured on both characters' pages. -- StrawDeath (talk) 21:23, 6 May 2026 (BST)
