Notes

[edit]

Stop adding the Fandom-esque notes to the Knock Out page, I'm pretty sure one of them was a repeat of a note we already reverted. McBaggins (talk) 19:25, 19 September 2022 (EDT)

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “fandom-esque” notes. McBaggins (talk I’m not sure how exactly I’m supposed to communicate on a wiki page to another user, so please bear with me, if you are somehow able to see this. I don’t understand how what I write was in factual. Was I also supposed to have included the episodes along with my statements as well? I thought my edits had fit the way how everything else on the wiki page was written pretty well. I understand that the wiki page itself is supposed to be factual, but from what I’ve seen, there was also some opinions and speculation others have also made on the wiki. I don’t understand what I had did that was wrong, since I wasn’t sharing opinions on matters and instead details I had noticed from the show that I don’t think I saw in the previous sections. "Fandom" here is in reference to the fandom.com network of fan wikis. Wikis located there have a reputation of accumulating a lot of inane "notes" or trivia points that exist solely for the sake of being notes or random observations and not actually being informative. We have higher standards and "Knock Out is sadistic" doesn't meet that. Saix (talk) 20:15, 19 September 2022 (EDT)
And please keep this conversation on your talk page, not the talk pages of the people responding to you. Saix (talk) 20:18, 19 September 2022 (EDT)
How would you know I’m responding to you if I’m editing my talk page Saix? Do you get notified? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Elitaone (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}. 20:25, 19 September 2022 (EDT)
The Recent Changes page is where users can see the most recent changes, be it a User Talk Page or any edits done on the articles. --Lonegamer78 (talk) 20:57, 19 September 2022 (EDT)
Thank you for addition, and I also already knew that. But how does the person I’m taking to know that I’ve responded to them if I’m supposed to keep our conversation strictly on my page? ElitaOne (talk) 21:01, 19 September 2022 (EDT)
Because most of us check the Recent Changes page to see if anything needs correcting/modifying/updating/responding to, like users' talk pages in this scenario. If someone posts a comment on your talk page here, you respond to it here, not at their talk page. Which reminds me...

Please use the Preview button when making numerous small changes to a single page, using "Save page" only after all your changes are made. This way, you don't clutter the Recent Changes page with a ton of tiny little edits. {{ #if: |{{ #if: |  |

Please make sure you use the "Show preview" button before you click the "Save page" button so we don't have to see a bunch of edits on the Recent Change page in the future. And like McBaggins and Saix said, your edits on adding those notes are the type of trivia is more common and probably acceptable in most fandom.com wikis, but we have a much stricter standard here in regards to notes. That's why your edits were removed. --Lonegamer78 (talk) 21:10, 19 September 2022 (EDT)
