If you haven't yet contributed anything, we'd really rather you didn't simply change jokes or add new ones without adding actual content. This also holds true for removing captions whole-hog or replacing them with "information" that really isn't.

Uploading images

[edit]

Hello! We already have a screencap of Blurr from that scene. Also can you please review our image policies, because the picture you uploaded had lots of artifacts and was in the wrong aspect ratio. --abates 22:57, 21 March 2013 (EDT)

Maybe you should refrain from uploading pictures altogether. I don't know what you're using, but every single picture you've uploaded thus far has been a blurry, pixelated mess, far below the Wiki's standards for images. --Detour 23:22, 28 March 2013 (EDT)
In regards to the "third time" thing, I meant as in that I'm the third person to put that on your Talk page, abates and Detour being the first two, for that very reason. --Lonegamer78 23:28, 28 March 2013 (EDT)

I do not understand why I have this still on my page.

{{#ifeq: User talk||}}{{#ifeq: User talk|File|}} When I see a picture, I normally have a good joke to tell because it may remind me of something else. Everytime I might add a joke, it gets deleted immediately! When I add a joke, it something I would crack up too. I would expect others to get it as well. The only joke I was confused about was when I put on an image of Tarantulas on his web saying: If I could fly like the other big bot I would be out of here in no time! I have contributed something. I created the pages Bot Shots Online Game and Transformers: Platinum Edition. I added some information on the Black hole page. I do not understand the meaning of this box. You have to tell me how to stop this from happening, but I STILL want to add a joke. I have been on this wiki for a long time. I am starting to feel turned down on this. I don't think you have read my jokes. This box was in my talk page three times and every time I add a joke, this happens! I don't know if the images I uploaded are deleted (my computer seems to have a problem), but I do know that my jokes are being deleted. Can you help me please?Movie09 00:16, 29 March 2013 (EDT)

Have you even read what the notice said? You've been on this Wiki a long time but all you've done until a few days ago was add captions. Which the notice, which was thrice added, tells you isn't kosher. Put two and two together, fella. --Detour 00:56, 29 March 2013 (EDT)
To clarify: Captions are those little bits of text that you often see accompanying thumbnail images in articles. These boxes were placed in your talk page early on because you originally kept adding caption jokes without contributing towards anything else. On this wiki, we usually prefer that a user add some useful, significant content first (writing articles, uploading images, etc.) before adding jokes, and adding exceedingly redundant and obvious "factual" captions is just as unhelpful. (Like placing "Return of Convoy Sixliner toy." on the image of the Return of Convoy Sixliner toy that's beside the article for the Return of Convoy Sixliner toy.) While your creation of the Platinum Edition page was appreciated, it was apparently not worth the small handful of captions that you added to the Chicago page. The Bot Shots Online Game article that you created could use some cleanup, but I think writing an article that reasonably large and helpful is good enough for a couple of captions. Also, if you place a useful image into an article that needs it, you get the opportunity to add a caption to it. :)
As for the images you uploaded, we having no images instead of images that are of bad quality, so it's best if you leave uploading the images to those who have good-quality image sources, and have computers that don't mess around with their images. Inkblot 01:20, 29 March 2013 (EDT)

Again! How much do I have to contribute to make you understand that I have contributed enough to go to other pages add captions or jokes on some images. Every time I go to the Articles that Need Images page I add an image and that means that I have contributed something. At least I have done something. I'm tired of being followed. I'm starting to belive you have not seen my captions. Another thing that I would like to ask is: Why did you say that I could use some cleanup with the Bot Shots Battle Game! page. What's wrong with it? Does it need any more information? The last thing I would want is the page or my captions (or both) being deleted by anyone.Movie09 11:15, 29 March 2013 (EDT)

Taking a look at the Bot Shots Battle Game! page, I would say that the voice and tone of the language needs to be changed. Compare what you have written to a page such as AllSpark Wars. The BSBG! page focuses on the player ("you can do this") while the AllSpark Wars page focuses on the game ("This can be done"). --Khajidha 12:29, 29 March 2013 (EDT)
You have to contribute more, not just a few bad quality pics and new articles that could use some cleaning up, and consider that as contributions. We aren't "following" you, it's just that the wiki has standards like almost every other wiki out there. Some of us contribute almost constantly, some of us contribute by helping to fill out gaps that others might have missed or not know from way back then, some of us contribute by getting materials from places where it's exclusive to a certain part of the world or through limited distribution, some help out by cleaning up articles to be more read-worthy (be it grammar or a way that befits the article), and so forth. --Lonegamer78 23:18, 29 March 2013 (EDT)

BS Cliffjumper article

[edit]

If you're unfamiliar with all the various faction/disambiguation/etc templates, it's best when creating a short character article to copy the code from a similar one (in this case another Bot Shots character) and then use that as a template. As it is, your Cliffjumper article is missing a faction insignia, continuity note, disambiguation template and an in-universe bio, and nobody wants to run around cleaning up after you.

Also, when uploading stock photos, please edit both robot and vehicle mode into one image, and crop it to avoid huge amounts of empty space. Jalaguy 12:22, 30 March 2013 (EDT)

I forgot that I needed to put that on there because I am new making a character page. At least the image of Cliffjumper did not have bad quality this time! Movie09 12:31, 30 March 2013 (EDT)

Vandal?

[edit]

Do you think I am vandalizing TFWiki.Net? After creating the Transformers: Platinum Edition, Bot Shots Battle, Cliffjumper (BS), and uploading some bad quality pictures, I'm vandalizing the site? Is that what you think? I still feel being followed and I feel like I can't be trusted wen it comes to edits. The administrators (and you're one too) don't appreciate me doing the edits. The Bot Shots, Transformers: Platinum Edition, and Cliffjumper (BS) pages would not have been created if wasn't for me though. -- Movie09 17:21, 1 April 2013 (EDT)

I'm not saying that you're vandalizing the wiki. What the others and I have been trying to say is to try to improve your contributions. And as I've said before, we're not "following" you. (And in all honesty, I'm not exactly an admin.) --Lonegamer78 03:13, 2 April 2013 (EDT)
Did someone call Movie09 a vandal? I'm trying to figure out the source of this. --ItsWalky 09:49, 2 April 2013 (EDT)

Uploading images

[edit]

When uploading images, please (a) give them a sensible filename, (b) properly attribute and categorise them, and most importantly (c) don't upload images that are very obviously watermarked as belonging to another website. Also, when adding images to a page you need to add '|thumb' into the link to have them display properly with a border. Jalaguy 15:01, 28 May 2013 (EDT)

Also, it was said at the top of the page, but since you obviously never got the message last year:

From my talk page:

Seriously, what images have been watermarked? They are just official images (nobody can argue about that). If I uploaded images that were watermarked, why aren't the new ones deleted? Also I did get the message last year when I uploaded the Platinum Edition Ultra Magnus. Movie09 (talk) 19:20, 5 May 2014 (EDT)
You're confusing "watermarking" with "tagging". You need to properly attribute and template/categorise files you upload. e.g., for an official picture of AOE Leader Optimus Prime, something like this:
[[Transformers: Age of Extinction (toyline)|''Age of Extinction'']] Leader Class [[Optimus Prime (Movie)/toys|Optimus Prime]]
{{AOEstock}}
{{AOEstock{{#if:||{{{2}}}|}}}} being the template for official toy pictures from the Age of Extinction toyline. - SanityOrMadness (talk) 19:57, 5 May 2014 (EDT)
