I have to be a bit of a nerd about capitalization. Even though it's the title of an article, common nouns like "fiction" and "scale" are not capitalized within a sentence. Only proper nouns are capitalized, like names, places, and organizations. This includes words in article titles and section headings. For example, an article title would be "Size changing", not "Size Changing". And if it's not at the beginning of a sentence, it's just "size changing". Just a nit-pick on my part. Image uploads

Hi, in the future, when you upload images, can you include info about what it is, where it came from, who made it and possibly who owns it if possible? Also, fairuse tags have {{ }} surrounding them so the script appears. Same goes for hastak, which is used when the picture belongs to Hasbro or Takara (such as stock photos of toys, packaging art), and comicinterior, used for comic scans. 'Safeword'

Even though the caption has been changed now, I should point out that it is rather uncool in my opinion to wiki link the meaning of safeword, given how sexual it is in nature. I actually didn't change it - some other dude did. As for unilaterally changing captions, it happens all the time, even if you wrote most of the article and uploaded most of the pics yourself. I don't mind myself as I leave captions blank in my pics for others to fill in. Anyway, I didn't mind your caption, I took exception to linking it to the meaning, and in my opinion, if a joke is going to go over somebody's head (in this case the meaning of the term), let it :) --FFN 10:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

MP Megatron

Figures Direct (an aussie toy shop) has said that the police and customs have advised them that customs will be on the lookout for Megatron and will most likely seize the toys. Sellers need to apply for a firearms replica license or something to get them in. This was also confirmed by a mate of mine who runs Transfigure Toys. So I'm concerned about how customs react to individuals getting them from Asia. --FFN 11:20, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, what can I say? I got mine (two of them, in fact: one for my buddy) from HobbyLinkJapan (scum) with no troubles. Customs didn't even open it. Maybe I was just lucky, but I suspect that those toyshops only got that response from the fuzz because they asked in the first place. In fact, they may very well have tipped them off and made it harder for everyone else to import them now. Who knows? Cheers, PacifistPrime.

Interesting. I really couldn't say whether the U.S. importation difficulty is percieved or not. They certainly go on about it a lot on tfw2005.com. I suppose we'll just have to wait for a user consensus on that point. Also, I just wanted to let you know I've reverted that edit; no offence but I disagree with you: I really think that the "impossible on paper" comment is an adequately noteworthy point, as the way animated Megs transforms is impossible without shape-morphing, as the kibble factor and detail-approximation on this figure proves (to say nothing of watching the cartoon in slow-mo). I also definitely think it's noteworthy what an INCREDIBLY complex transformation the toy has. Wouldn't you agree it must be the most elaborate transformation in a TF toy to date? I've removed the word "fiddly" (which wasn't actually mine anyway), if that makes any difference.

I should have pointed this out earlier, but you don't need to post the same reply you put here onthe talk page of somebody commenting on yours, because it leads to a disjointed conversation. Most likely a person who asked a question or commented would check back anyway :P

Yeah, blame the shops. They were checking to see if they were breaking the law. TFT asked customs about it last year and they were fine with it. Apparently they've changed their minds since seeing the toy. Its fair for a retailer check if it was worth the time and bother ordering this in, no? It would piss them off, piss their customers off, and piss their wholesale suppliers off if they do it under the radar and customs seizes them, would it not? --FFN 05:06, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, that's fine. My main issue is the "difficulty importing". It's impossible to say that MP-05 is infamous for being difficult to import, because they've only just started coming into the country, and there have been no complaints, as far as I know. There is a lot of talk about worrying about difficulty on the TFW2005 boards, but there is no actual discussion about real difficulty importing. I apologise to FFN for offending him with my comment about retailers tipping off the fuzz; I suppose that was a tad unfair, although it was a somewhat fecetious comment in the first place, so I wouldn't get too shirty about it.

Otherwise, I'm going to somewhat dip out of this debate. All I can say is that I'm an Australian who imported two unmodded MP-5s from Japan with no trouble. I'm not in a position to accurately comment on the difficulties (or not) of U.S. fans importing theirs, or even fellow Australian fans for that matter, as I don't spend any time on discussion boards. I'll leave it to user consensus as to how it reads, but at the very least I would think that SOME mention should be made about the feared difficulty of importation, since it led to various retailers modifying their MP-5s, which is surely an unusual enough act to be noteworthy. Um, hi. This is actually somewhat old news, as I haven't checked in for a week or so, but I respectfully suggest that you're overracting just a whisker. I was unaware that there had been further developments for other Australian fans importing the MP-05; as I've stated elsewhere I don't spend any time on discussion boards so I wouldn't know about any of that. If my original few lines on the subject (admittedly based solely on my personal experience of problem-free importation) is no longer representative of the majority, then I have no objection whatsoever to the text being revised.

However, I think that your edit is a bit of an overlong rave and (at the risk of sounding more Seppocentric than is my wont) I have to say that I don't think Australia's situation really requires as much text as that concerning the States'. Furthermore, I think that your rebuttal "Eat that, Australia" is particularly uneccessary. First of all it sounds like a rather mean-spirited bit of one-upmanship over a comment which, although I'll conceed was smug, was only meant in the kind of good humour that this site broadly embraces (such as its pervasive mockery of Japanese fiction). Your comment sounds quite barbed by comparison, in my opinion. But regardless of any issues of opinion it frankly doesn't make sense, because it is referring to a previous edit which no longer exists in the current text, so to any newcomer reading it the comment has no context. For this reason most of all I have taken it upon myself to remove that one line, but I have left your preceding paragraph untouched. However I urge you to reconsider its neccessity and respectfully suggest that you cut it down considerably.

Err... okay. I respectfully suggest that you're missing the point: I'm not offended, nor am I particularly patriotic. In fact, I'm a dual Austalian/American citizen, so your comments regarding my national identity are actually fairly irrelevant. And uncalled for. Don't you think personal remarks on this site are a bit untoward?

I just think that your edit gives the impression of being a bit personal, as though you were miffed about my original text, rather than containing material of particular relevance to other readers/users, especially your sardonic rebuttal. Again, my original crack was intended in good humour, so it seems that it is you who are the one getting offended. Perhaps this is not the case, and if so I apologise.

But regardless of that I still maintain that the content makes little sense. Please re-read my previous post for my reasons for this.

All Hail Megatron

Hi, we don't upload entire pages like that. If you really want to show some panel with those characters, then take the time to cut the panel out and upload it seperately. Also, we try to avoid image files over 100KB if it can be helped, though we will allow them if it is required for legibility.

Also, as this is not the Wikipedia, we write fiction entries (be they character pages or the story's page itself) "in-universe" as if they are events that happened. So we don't say things like "One year later, during the events of All Hail Megatron, Thundercracker, his fellow Seekers and the newly-arrived IDWverse Constructicons...". Also, the talk about alt modes and toys was inappropriate for a fiction section. --FFN 06:04, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
