After-the-fact names
[edit]I have been unable to locate any policy on the matter, so could you either link me or explain to me why some characters and concepts do get to be retroactively named (Nemesis (G1), Victory (G1), Lancer, Greenlight, Semper Tyrannis, etc.) while Kiloton does not? - While not codified as part of our policy, it's more part of our informal manual of style on how to approach retcons established from years of consensus. In 2018, senior user Saix made the same edit to remove Kiloton's name from that specific section. Over on Talk:Archforce, he and wiki admin Broadside discuss that a minor name retcon should not be misleadingly inserted into a section in which a character is nameless. More recently we made edits to Prima's page to remove that name from his G1 cartoon section. The change was supported by wiki admins through discussion on our Discord server: Wadapan noted that "the wiki should give an accurate representation of media that reflects the intent in which it was created" and that "it's really poor information hygiene [...] to put information in fiction sections that does not actually have basis in [that fiction]"; Jalaguy added that "IMO the wiki's stance on "everything is equally canon" is a very strong argument for not retroactively applying retcon names onto past media, insomuch as doing so implicitly gives the source doing the name retcon precedence over the original piece of media that didn't name them. [...] I think if a name retcon happened within one contiguous series of stories, then obviously it makes sense to refer to them as such within that entire subheader, but when it's retcons from external sources, then it just feels plain misrepresentative." I think the fact that those cases you mentioned aren't at parity with other examples is because we don't have an official policy in place, the nearest thing to one being tucked away at the bottom of our page on retcons. That and the fact that editors aren't a monolithic hivemind, and that many of these retconned cases are minor enough that nobody has cared to go through and standardise them. – TheLastGherkin (talk) 04:45, 24 November 2025 (EST)
Earth Wars skin photos
[edit]By the way, check the TFEW channel on the wiki's Discord server, there are pictures for the TFOne and holiday Sentius Twins skins on there (plus photos of Megatronus since we don't have his renders). (You have to scroll back a bit tho) -- IGEBM13 (talk) 15:16, 8 April 2026 (EDT)
Chromia White Version photos
[edit]Hey, I dunno if you still have the toy but Chromia here is mistransformed. The boat backpack moves lower so the top flap's hinge is more even with her shoulders (see old photo for how it should look). Saix (talk) 16:41, 14 April 2026 (EDT)
- It was a loaner! If I remember correctly, the backpack positioning was a concession to keep the damn thing standing up in that pose. – TheLastGherkin (talk) 16:48, 14 April 2026 (EDT)
