You absolutely need to include copyright information on all the images you upload. See any other image on the wiki as a reference, if you need to. --Suki Brits 07:30, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yea. Alright. Figured I'd have to eventually. Was wondering how do do it without cluttering the recent changes list more than I already do. I was uploading images using http://transformers.wikia.com/skins/common/images/button_upload.gif like some crazy fool. Now I'll use wiki/Special:Upload instead. I'll make a point to go back and add copyright to the image I already uploaded.--Zodberg 08:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Armada recaps
[edit]Hey dude, thanks for doing the Armada episode recaps - my favourite guilty pleasure, that series. I rearranged the page based upon our current episode recap standards, so you might want to check it out to see what you should do next time - its abit more work at first, but everything ends up looking nicer :D --FFN 20:24, 31 July 200--FFN 06:00, 9 January 2008 (UTC)7 (UTC)
- Thanks. Although I really don't think the standard format is perfect. As it is, I pretty much just use the same format I do for comic issues. BUT the character grids are cool and I'll try to make a point to use them, but I'm just not a fan of the template for last and next episodes, and I really don't like the empty sections that'll never be filled (like Real-world references, in Portent's case), because they make the wiki look incomplete-er and they make the contents box longer. And I like using "Aberrations, Errors, Contrarieties" because I an a doof with a Thesaurus.
- Also, because I can't think of anywhere better to mention it: I'm frequently tempted to just turn the Quotes section into a complete log of everything Billy and Fred say.--Zodberg 20:52, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you have nothing to say for references, just hide them (I forgot in Portent's case for Real World stuff, but I remembered for 'transformers references'). Hit edit on the page to see what you need to do to hide sections that haven't been filled out (because you have nothing to say). --FFN 07:02, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- A reminder - you should watch how pictures affect the formatting of the articles you do, and of course, bear in mind people use various resolutions to view this site, so sometimes pictures (especially tall ones) will cut into different sections at lower resolutions. If in doubt, use a formatting spacer at the end to ensure the picture stays within the boundaries of the section its in.
- Also, quotes need to be put into context, so there should be a little description to who and why they are saying. I haven't watched most of the Armada episodes in a while and I had no idea what half the quotes you, erm, quoted were referring to :(
- Thanks for your hard work, though :) --FFN 16:48, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Just a reminder on episode recaps - we have officially agreed that format I advocated previously is now the wiki standard. Now you HAVE to do it my way, HAHAHAHA! :D --FFN 06:00, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- haven't been wiki'ing much recently, wear is template?--Zodberg 12:32, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know if we have a blank slate to use (I just copy paste from a previous one I've done). But on our help page I put More than Meets the Eye, Part 1 as an example. Comic articles are starting to use the character columns, too. --FFN 14:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
BW recaps
[edit]Could you please fill out Transformers Wiki:WikiProject Beasties cartoon for the recaps you've done? Because at the moment the project has stalled and nobody knows who is doing what. Thanks. --FFN 12:40, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Could you indicate on the actual wikiproject page which recaps you intend to do, claim episodes with your username and the colour thing? Green for completed, yellow for in-progress ect. This is so we can know who is doing what so we can concentrate on other recaps instead. --FFN 15:44, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Erm, actually not really. I generally don't plan on recapping episodes. I just get bored of playing Ragnarok Online, so I pop open youtube and write up an summary for an episode that needs it, with some trivia. And I'm not really sure what amount of finish warrants an episode being red/yellow/green. I'll try not to do articles that anybody has called dibs on, though, sorry if I have already.--Zodberg 01:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Screen captures
[edit]I would recommend that when you upload screen captures... don't upload images the sizes of modern thumbnails, because it would be kind of pointless if one were to open up the an image and the image remains tiny. For example, this - I can't see a darn thing in the image:
Thanks. --FFN 07:57, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just was taking the screen captures off of video files on my computer, rather than capping from my own recording or the DVDs. "Modern Thumbnails", back in my day, thumbnails were 100x100 at the most AND WE LIKED IT!
- I have the same Armada video files from 2003. I play them in PowerDVD and set the screen capture image size to the current size of the video window. That way, I get the picture as large as I was comfortable watching it. --FFN 17:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
