Wings Universe is based on the Generation 1 cartoon, but deviates from it in cosmetic ways and continuity points.

After leaving Torax Prime following the demise of Squadron X, Ferak and Tornado traveled through space on a modified escape pod. They were intercepted by an Autobot Vanguard-class fighter and were about to be arrested for but were saved by the arrival of the Star Seeker warship Tidal Wave, which destroyed the Autobot ship.
