In 2009, the Decepticons sought to acquire a fragment of the shattered All Spark which they learnt was hidden in the home of the human female Mikaela Banes. Starscream decided that in order to accomplish this goal, a viroid was going to be inserted into their communications system and set with the task of locating her. Soundwave prepared to launch the Viroid into the planet Earth but required the disruption of five communication towers in order to bring about the success of the mission. After Grindor destroyed the towers, the Viroid infiltrated the communication grid and discovered Mikaela's location. Revenge of the Fallen (PSP)
