Waldo and Ernest sneaked into Big Dan's Autorama to steal a car. There, they spotted a Volkswagen. Waldo balked at the idea of stealing a Volkswagen, but Ernest reasoned that nobody would miss one. Ernest having hotwired the vehicle, Waldo took the wheel and drove out of the dealership.

The two went on a rowdy ride around a Wisconsin town, stopping for fast food, driving on sidewalks, and almost running over people. The duo caught the eye of another driver, who challenged them to a race. The Volkswagen provided a valiant effort, passing the opponent at first, but stalled and broke down. Waldo, despite having no experience with an engine such as the one found on the Volkswagen, fixed it up and the two went on their merry way.

That is, till they were attacked by the Decepticons. The Volkswagen took control, maneuvering to an expressway bridge. There the Volkswagen transformed before their eyes into a gigantic robot. The bridge threatened to fall on the pair and Bumblebee took them away to safety. Shortly afterwards, the Autobots and the police arrived, forcing the Decepticons into retreat. Waldo and Ernest were at a loss to explain their night to the authorities. Plight of the Bumblebee!
