"Watchdog" units are part of the Decepticon security net on Cybertron under Shockwave. These hovercars patrol the roads of Cybertron, going where the traditional Decepticon jet cannot.

The Transformers cartoon

[edit]

When Spike, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker, Bumblebee, and Brawn ticked off Shockwave, he sent the entire Decepticon contingent on Cybertron after them. Two "watchdogs" pursued them through the streets, but they were able to evade them by ducking into the hidden entrance to Wheeljack's lab. The Ultimate Doom, Part 3

Notes

[edit]
  • Identified only as "futuristic Decepticon vehicles" in the episode's script, these two Decepticons are colloquially referred to as "watchdogs" by Spike. They share the same pale purple and grey color scheme as Reflector and the rear of the vehicles resembles the viewfinder section found on the backs of the individual Reflector components; could they be some of the Photons—the robots who share Reflector's design—in their Cybertronian alternate modes?
  • Punch/Counterpunch's Cybertronian vehicle mode as first seen in Transformers '84 #0 is the same model as a Watchdog.
