Wishing on shooting stars
Humans have always loved looking up at the night sky, whether for the beautiful view, practical purposes, or connection with powers beyond theirs. From the latter, the practice of wishing on shooting stars was derived. The gist of it is that if you see a shooting star, you get to make a wish and it's supposed to come true. Results may very.

[edit]Artemis saw the Martian emissary shoot by the Moon on its way to Gaia and mistook it for a shooting star. She wished for a tasty cake. Moon may or may not have known the practice of wishing on shooting stars because he was confused about what Artemis was doing. She explained that the shooting star would make her wish come true, but Moon, recognizing that something wasn't right, countered that that wasn't a shooting star. Artemis presumably didn't get any cake. Emissary of the Fourth Planet
