YÅ«ichi Nagashima
Yūichi Nagashima (長島 雄一 Nagashima Yūichi born December 15, 1957) is a Japanese voice actor who is nowadays credited as Chō (チョー). He is most famous for playing Chō in the 1984-1991 children's show Tanken Boku no Machi, eventually becoming synonymous with the character and using the name as his stage name.
A few of Nagashima's other roles include Jaken in InuYasha, Ginnosuke Nohara in Crayon Shin-chan, Brook in One Piece, the President of Everything in Super Milk-chan, Ginnosuke Nohara in Crayon Shin-chan, Genma Saotome in the 2024 Ranma 1/2 remake, Matal Mogamett in Magi, Hiroshi Uchiyamada in Great Teacher Onizuka, Cyborg 007/Great Britain in the 2001 Cyborg 009 anime, Kazuo Yamashita in Kengan Ashura, Wilson Phillips in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Misuzu Sonada in Ouran High School Host Club.
In Japanese dubbing he has dubbed the voices for Gollum in The Lord of the Rings series, Scooby-Doo in the Scooby-Doo live-action movies, Elmer Fudd in Looney Tunes media, Plankton in The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, Big Gay Al in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, I.R Baboon in Cow and Chicken, Cecil in Reboot, Frankenstein in Hotel Transylvania, Mason in Madagascar, Maggot in Corpse Bride, Captain Haddock in The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn and Winston Zeddemore in the TV Asahi dub of Ghostbusters 2.

[edit]- In the preview for "Fierce Battle at the Bottom of the Lake", Nagashima announces a fictional ditty called "Blitzwing's Song". He apparently pulled a similar gag during the ending credits of Beast Machines when he was playing the role of Savage/Noble and would later do it once more with Tarantulas in the next episode preview for EarthSpark.
