Having an interest in lost Cybertronian relics scattered across the galaxy, {{storylink|Storm Horizon Part 1}} [[Spinister (G1)|Spinister]]'s gang of splice thieves had mapped out several of the Black Sphere's planets. When the sage [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] was following the trail of a lost Cybertronian repository vessel, he had reason to believe it had drifted into the Black Sphere's territory, bargaining with the criminals for usage of a [[Kworian]] shuttlecraft.
