In spite of the Wraiths' ability to disguise themselves as organic aliens, the Wraith Hives were a hallmark of their invasions and recognized by the [[Space Knight]]s as targets. {{storylink|Earthfall: Part One}}

In the mid-19th century, a group of Wraiths had established a hive on a unknown planet for use as a base. Within, they reviewed the actions of the recently deceased [[Vekktral]] and declared that they would follow only the path of [[magic]]. {{storylink|Shining Armor issue 5|Shining Armor #5}}

When making planetfall on Earth, Rom was surprised to find the planet lacked any Wraith Hives in spite of the planet being a target for Wraith conquest. {{storylink|Earthfall: Part One}} He later relayed this information to [[Orphion]] and [[Livia]], {{storylink|Reinforcements, Part 3}} before it was later discovered that the Wraiths intended to terraform Earth via the [[Presence]]. {{storylink|Long Roads to Ruin, Part 4}}
