A joint US-British expedition lead by doctors [[Jessica Theist]] and [[Carter Sanford]] were exploring the ruins when an accident on the part of [[Ransack (Armada)|Ransack]], one of the [[Mini-Con]]s they had with them, caused Theist to tumble into the cave containing the Natiltec pictographs.  With the aid of [[Laserbeak (Armada)|Laserbeak]] they were able to decode and translate some of the text, revealing the story of what had happened there 3,000 years before.
