Comet was known for keeping up with his old cronies, however...a habit which could land him in trouble someday.

Comet somehow encountered [[Bug Bite (G1)|Bug Bite]], a recent arrival in Axiom Nexus who managed to dodge security and avoid getting an [[Identification bolt|ID Bolt]] thanks to his portable [[Astro-Beam]] technology. Although evidence indicated that Comet was helping Bug Bite out on some matter, the [[GoBots (G1)|GoBot]] eventually turned on Comet. Blasting him at point blank range with his open-palmed hand-blaster, Bug Bite dumped Comet's body in the river and stole what credits he had on him. Comet's body washed back up on shore, leading [[Cheetor (TransTech)|Commander Cheetor]] to investigate his murder. {{storylink|Withered Hope}}
