Little is known about the background or motives behind it, though it appears to be named after the [[Clone Trooper]]s employed by the Republic, who are up against hordes of Confederacy [[Battle Droid]]s. With both sides making use of easily mass-produced troops, it comes as no surprise that the war has spread throughout space and across numerous planets, much like the [[Great War]] of the [[Transformer]]s. Transforming [[Mech|battle suits]] are also commonplace among both Republic and Separatist combatants.
