Back on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], '''Load Hauler''' worked at [[Crystal City]], until its destruction at the hands of his former teammates, who had been turned into the [[Constructicons (G1)|Constructicons]] by the [[Robo-Smasher]] device. Losing his friends sent him to the Autobots' side, though as a worker, not a fighter. His primary function is in the discovery and procurement of enery sources, travelling [[Earth]] for long periods in his search. He does have incredible physical strength, plus the ability to launch both of his fists from their wrist-sockets, which he can then remote-control to perform tasks normally beyond his reach.

Load Hauler is subject to flights of fancy, especially when it comes to his appearance. As such, oftentimes he will return from one of his long soujurns a completely different color than he left in.

Load Hauler (merely called "Hauler" in his one appearance) joined [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] and [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]] in recovering [[Hound]] from the bottom of a ravine. He never spoke or transformed to robot mode. Or did anything else ever.
