- Anthony Duranti is a human from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Anthony "Tony" Duranti is a boy with an overactive imagination, which is probably for the best as it means he has something to entertain himself with when his mother is preoccupied again. Apparently fatherless, he lives with her at a farm in Washington, either near or in Seattle.

Anthony was brought along by his mother to an anti-nuke protest at Fort Lewis, where he mostly waited for her to finally drive them home. Bored because there was no one he could play with around, Anthony’s mood lightened when he was approached by a friendly dog. The boy went to play a game of fetch with the dog, inadvertently drawing the attention of Bombshell when he was looking for a way to distract Bumblebee. Disgusted "to see a boy and his dog having fun", the Insecticon cerebro-shelled Anthony and made him walk into the path of Power Station Alpha. Bumblebee blew his cover to get the boy out of harm's way. Anthony was reunited with his mother, who fled with him, thinking the robot was responsible for his "state of shock". Blood on the Tracks

Anthony was taken home by his mother, who hoped his unresponsive state would go by on its own. It didn't; The cerebro-shell, discarded by Bombshell, was stuck in the boy's brain, allowing him only the vaguest bits of awareness. He did seem to understand though that Bumblebee had saved his life, as he was holding on to a Bumblebee toy while left alone in his room. Realizing her son's condition was not improving, Mrs. Duranti took him to a doctor, who, after some tests and an x-ray scan, found out what the problem was. He informed Mrs. Duranti that surgery would be needed to remove the thing from Anthony's brain, and that nothing could be said about the outcome of the operation. Power Struggle Anthony was brought to the hospital, into the care of Doctor McGrath. He went through the operation well, being declared recovering soon after. Relieved, Mrs. Duranti took seat next to his bed, at which point Anthony temporary regained consciousness and weakly called out for her. Ashes, Ashes...
Anthony was released from the hospital some time thereafter. He was sitting on the porch in front of his house when he was witness to Power Station Alpha exploding in the sky. He rushed inside to tell his mother what he had just seen, but she didn't believe him and reminded him that his exaggerated and made-up stories were not appreciated. Anthony conceded, allowing his mother to hug him tightly for being back to his old self, overactive imagination and all. ...All Fall Down!
Notes
[edit]- While usually a blond, Anthony was given black hair in "Power Struggle".
- Speaking of hair, Anthony’s has grown back pretty fast between his surgery in "Ashes, Ashes..." and recovery in "...All Fall Down!".
- And lets just not talk about what age he is supposed to be anyway. Depending on the panel/comic, he could be anywhere from ten to sixteen.
