After the Dynasty of Primes disappeared, the remaining Cybertronians separated into a number of tribes that went on to compete with one another over Cybertron's remaining energy. One such tribe is formed by the Thetacons, who probably reside in the city of Thetacon. Ironhide is one of their best warriors.

Sentinel Prime's group held the Thetacons at bay long enough for their plan to follow through and to prove themselves right.
