GT Sister

GT Sisters are characters from the Transformers GT portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

A GT Sister (GTシスター), sometimes spelled GT-Sister, is the personification of a GT Transformer's "Matrix" , said to be the part of their spirit that governs their wisdom. While there is normally only one Matrix of Leadership, leaders gather from "across time and space" to participate in the Transformers GT, each bringing their own Matrix; even Decepticon contestants carry a "Dark Matrix" for this purpose. Having eschewed combat in favor of friendly competition, the GT Transformers wanted to avoid falling back into their old roles and using deadly force during races, and developed the GT Sisters as a way to limit their own power by splitting it between two bodies. The Sisters are fully autonomous with their own distinct personalities and are relied on to work as a kind of power valve, observing the GT Transformers' activities and regulating how much power they're allowed to access.

GT Sisters appear outwardly identical to humans, having scanned race queens from various racing teams for their physical forms. Aside from their primary function they also act as partners to the Transformers they were created from, supporting them with advice during the Transformers GT races.

When a GT Transformer is forced to fight, their GT Sister enters "battle mode", switching from her team's outfit to an original "Team TF" battle costume and adopting a combative mentality. If the situation gets serious enough, the Transformer can merge with their GT Sister to remove all limitations and regain their full strength, a process known as "Matrix In" (マトリクス・イン).

Packaged with their respective GT racers over the course of 2013, the four produced GT Sisters are highly-poseable figurines redecoed and retooled from the 2005 Microman "Micro Sister" mold by Microman designer DOGMASK into human (well, human-passing) race queens. Each GT Sister wears the real-life uniform of the race queens of the team represented by their Transformer partner's livery and includes a few extra pairs of hands for various expressions.

Notes

• Given Ai, the only GT Sister without a "licensed alt mode" is in battle mode at all times, battle mode may also constitute a GT Sister's true un-camouflaged form.
