Mara-Al-Utha, a Quintesson who had been banished to Menonia by his fellows, overthrew the Golden One by trapping the ruler in a cave. Mara-Al-Utha assumed the name "Red Wizard" and imprisoned his main rival, the Golden One's pupil, in the castle dungeon. The pupil languished there for "ages beyond counting".

In 2006, Daniel Witwicky and Grimlock accidentally transported themselves to Menonia using the same portal through which the Quintessons had originally cast Mara-Al-Utha. They were met by the Quintesson exile, disguised as the pupil, and deceived into supporting the Red Wizard. While sleeping, Daniel was placed in the dungeon with the Golden One's pupil, who was able to explain the situation with somewhat more accuracy, helping Daniel to realise that the Red Wizard had tricked the two visitors. Daniel freed him from his bonds and, during the battle for the castle, the dungeon wall was breached.

The pupil led the way to the cave in which the Golden One was trapped, appealing to his master to help them free him. A gust of wind whipped away Daniel's collar to where it was found by the group of Autobots who had come looking for Daniel and Grimlock. Steeljaw was able to track down Daniel and the pupil, and Ramhorn shattered the boulder blocking the cave, freeing the Golden One. The pupil greeted his old master, informing him of the situation.

After the Golden One defeated Mara-Al-Utha, he and his pupil bade the Autobots farewell from Menonia. Madman's Paradise

Notes
