Blue Eagle is a Laser Beast from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Captain of the Laser Beast Aerial Strike Force, Blue Eagle (ブルーイーグル Burūīguru) strikes quick and strikes first. He is a beast who operates on lighting-fast intuition and vicious efficiency at all times, whether his subordinates can keep up or not. In fact, his disposition towards his comrades is generally icy; his personal motto is "To deceive your enemy, start with your friends", and even his own troops call him "The Cool, Lonely Warrior". Not a trace of emotion ever crosses his face.

In battle, he is an aerial combatant with few equals. He is incredibly maneuverable, able to dodge enemy attacks with ease and perform quick and powerful air strikes. His Blue Jet Laser (ブルージェットレーザー Burū Jetto Rēzā) MVP Weapon is capable of charging up a powerful burst, which if fired behind him in flight, produces a blast powerful enough to propel him at speeds up to Mach 10.

Part of the first assortment of Takara's Beastformers individually-boxed Laser Beasts, Blue Eagle is an anthropomorphic eagle in high-tech olive-green armor. He has a transparent orb in his torso, revealing the elemental power of Fire, Water, or Wood when you look through it into a light source.

Nominally, he comes with the eagle-themed "Blue Jet Laser" blaster. However, there is also a chance he could come with the weapon from one of the other 11 Laser Beasts in his shipping case; matching the Beasts with their same-numbered weapons was part of the "role-playing game" attached to the line, encouraging kids to buy more of the toys.

This toy was actually released in Hasbro's Battle Beasts line as part of the "Shadow Warriors" series, but they saw extremely limited distribution, largely hitting clearance chains in the US, plus limited releases in parts of Europe. As such, it generally goes for a bit less than the later Laser Beasts that were only released in Japan, but not a lot less. There is a minor variant to the gun that has popped up in some EU and Canadian samples, though it's a bit harder to notice than most of the other gun variants: both versions have the "77" ID number stamped on the left-hand side behind the eagle-head's "eye", but the common version has the number much larger, taking up most of the vertical space, while the variant considerably smaller, leaving a lot of empty space.

Notes

• His pack-in bio card says the Blue Jet Laser boosts his speed to Mach 20. That's uh... a lot. Like, a lot a lot. "The wind resistance would produce enough heat to melt steel" a lot. The Hero Special 12: Laser Beasts mook gives him a less suicidal but still ridiculous top speed of Mach 10.
