Reed Richards is Mister Fantastic and the leader of the Fantastic Four, a group known to be operating on Earth in 1984. He probably is really smart.

[edit]Upon seeing the highly advanced technology possessed by the Autobots within their spaceship, the Ark, Spider-Man thought to himself that it would humble even the brilliant scientist Reed Richards, leader of the Fantastic Four. Prisoner of War!
Crossovers
[edit]Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man used alien technology to make giant transforming suits of armour for superheroes to ride in. For some insane reason, this includes the Hulk.
