Transfixatron

Megatron made such a big deal about the Transfixatron that even Shockwave had to come to Earth to see it.

The transfixatron was a device built by the Constructicons under the direction of Megatron. It was a projectile device that fired energy bursts that could nullify a Transformer's transformation process.

After the Constructicons completed work on the device in a ghost town in the middle of nowhere, Megatron immediately tested it on the first Decepticon who complained. The transfixatron successfully trapped Starscream in his jet mode, and proved its worth. A second blast restored Starscream's ability to transform.

When the Autobots undertook a motor race for charity, Megatron used the opportunity to use the transfixatron on them. Skywarp teleported from a remote location to the air above the Autobots and fired the transfixatron on the racing Autobots, trapping them all in their vehicular modes. Skywarp was called "delightfully treacherous" by Megatron for his actions.

Bumblebee, Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Huffer managed to escape the transfixatron because they chose not to participate in the race. These Autobots, with the help of Spike and Chip Chase, managed to develop a grenade that could counteract the effects of the transfixatron, which was ultimately destroyed, but not before being used against Devastator, causing him to dismantle...for some reason. The Constructicons built the Transfixatron and used it against the Autobots during a charity race they were holding. Unfortunately for the Decepticons, the Autobots were just as adept at fighting in their vehicle modes, and were able to hold their own until the Transfixatron's effects were reversed.
