The name or term "Soldier" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Soldier (disambiguation).
Soldiers are a body-type in the War for Cybertron portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Soldiers are some of the most common soldiers in the Autobot, Neutral, and Decepticon armies. Armed with Neutron assault rifles, Photon burst rifles & Battle pistols, Soldiers hide on rooftops and high-up crevices. Soldiers are not dangerous, but can cause a lot of problems to their enemies if they come in large numbers. While soldiers have no patterns to base an attack on, a smart warrior can exploit their low health, and their weak armor, to kill them easily with a powerful weapon.

"Hey! I’m ba-You killed HOW many of me during Escalation?!?"
  • Gamer Edition Decepticon Soldier (Deluxe Class, 2024)
Studio Series "Gamer Edition Decepticon Soldier" is a heavy retool of the earlier Gamer Edition Barricade.[1] Nearly every part of the previous figure has been replaced. This figure converts into a "Cybertronian sports car" in 12 steps and retains Barricade's neutron assault rifle accessory which can be stowed atop their canopy in vehicle mode or on the back of both modes. Like other Gamer Edition figures, the right forearm can be detached to equip the rifle or other Gamer Edition weapons to emulate the way characters' arms transformed into their weapons in-game.
The heavy retooling on this figure also fixes many of the articulation issues that Barricade suffered from: the elbows and knees can bend a full 90 degrees, the wrists are no longer obstructed, and calf kibble now acts as heels. The shoulder and hip articulation is still a bit restrictive going outwards. Unlike Barricade, the Decepticon Soldier can also store the detached forearm on their back when not in use.
There is a discrepancy with how the kibble on the sides of the lower legs should be transformed: Renders and one page in the instructions have the kibble rotated to cover the wheels, however, stock photos and most of the instructions leave them untransformed. Which orientation to use can be left to the owner's preference as the kibble doesn't exist on the game model either way. Of note, if using the "transformed" look, the leg kibble does not tab in securely, resulting in them being left behind if the knees are bent without holding them down.
