Synopsis

Autobots

Melody Keen, the Autobots' ally on Earth. welcomes Jetfire to her planet. They set to work on building defenses for their base, starting off with an auto cannon constructed just in time to fend off a small Decepticon attack. Later, they build an outpost, which protects them from Starscream when he arrives and discovers that they're on Earth. Melody cheers, but Jetfire points out that they still need reinforcements from Cybertron, which they can only get if they power the Space Bridge with a crystal. Melody gets her contacts to work on finding one, and soon, they have one to bring Ironhide to Earth. With his help, they build an Energon harvester and storage, as well as an alloy harvester and storage. It then comes time to bring Optimus Prime to Earth; Ironhide lets his leader know that they're off to scout the enemy base, and receives orders to locate a crystal strong enough to bring him through the Space Bridge.

Decepticons

The egoist Luca welcomes Starscream to Earth, saying he's there to help them for a price before being shushed by his new ally. They build an auto cannon, which protects them from a small Autobot attack, then an outpost that forces Jetfire to retreat when he goes to the base. Afterwards, Starscream orders Luca to fire up the Space Bridge, but his human partner tells him that they'll need a crystal for that, and if he wants a crystal, he has to make a deal. They eventually find one and bring Bludgeon to Earth with it. With him, they build Energon and alloy harvesters, along with storages for both. Their next step is to bring Megatron to Earth, something their leader says can be accomplished with a more powerful crystal.

Part 1: "Scouting the Area"

Autobots

Jetfire and Ironhide arrive at the Decepticon base and decide to get some revenge on them for their prior attack, a battle from which they emerge victorious. Among the spoils are enough Energon and alloy to, at Blaster's suggestion, upgrade their headquarters. They then claim a reward, as upgrading it was a direct order from Cybertron. When discussing their next step, they decide to continue raiding Decepticon bases to get more resources to strengthen their own defenses and bring more allies to Earth.

Decepticons

Starscream and Bludgeon attack the Autobot base and steal some of their resources, which they use, at Soundwave's recommendation, to upgrade their HQ. Like the Autobots, they receive a reward, since upgrading their headquarters was on Megatron's to-do list for them. They agree that their next step is to attack more enemy bases to grow their stockpile of resources and further fortify their main base.

Part 2: "Crystals"

Autobots

The Autobots win another battle.

Decepticons

The Decepticons win a battle of their own.

Part 3: "Exposed Flank"

Autobots

Optimus congratulates his troops on a job well done, while Megatron rages at the defeats and decides to let out his anger by punishing Starscream.

Decepticons

Following another victory, Megatron announces that it's time to begin the second phase of his plan. Optimus, concerned, realizes the stakes have heightened.

Part 4: "Laser Strike"

Autobots

Despite their defeat, Starscream warns the Autobots that it's never the end.

Decepticons

After an Autobot defeat, Grimlock complains that Megatron is going to get to go to Earth but not him. Meanwhile, Starscream plots to take whatever his leader is seeking.

Part 5: "The Final Push"

This base also includes dialogues that play only if your team is defeated. They are identical with the exception of who says the lines and focus on the team opting to flank the mortar cannon from the left and use their special abilities against it.

Autobots

The Autobots successfully obtain enough crystals to bring Optimus to Earth and use it to power up the Space Bridge.

Decepticons

The Decepticons get another crystal, this one making their total amount powerful enough to bring Megatron through the portal.

Gameplay

Campaigns are formatted like Alliance Wars, in which the player has raid a series of 5 bases with increasing difficulties, and cannot advance to the next one until they destroy the one before it. Unlike wars, however, each battle has story dialogue after it. "Scouting the Area" also has one before it, as well as a segment about the HQ after the post-battle dialogue.

Because this campaign is meant to serve as a gameplay tutorial/introduction for new players, each battle (except the third) showcases different features and aspects of the system. "Scouting the Area" highlights each character's special ability, "Crystals" introduces outposts, "Laser Strike", as its name suggests, debuts the laser turret, and "The Final Push" marks the first appearance of the mortar.

Upon completing the campaign, the Leader Crystal is given to the player as a reward, allowing them to unlock either Optimus Prime or Megatron depending on their faction

Autobot squad: Ironhide Jetfire One bot unlocked with the Character Crystal obtained from the second base

Decepticon squad: Bludgeon Starscream One bot unlocked with the Character Crystal obtained from the second base

Character stories

Chronologically, the character stories for Ironhide and Bludgeon take place during the tutorial.

Ironhide

At Ironhide's suggestion, the team sets up an Energon harvester.

Bludgeon

Following his arrival, Bludgeon questions the lack of Energon and suggests they build a harvester for it.

Chronologically, the character stories for Optimus Prime and Megatron take place after the events of "The Final Push".

Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime summons Melody Keen for her geology expertise, as the Decepticons seem to have begun hunting for the pieces of a Fractal Map, which will lead them to an ancient Cybertronian artifact. Melody tells her allies to prepare for a mission while she runs some scans.

Megatron

Starscream reports on the success of his Energon mining operation to Megatron who scolds him for thinking they returned to Earth just for its resources.

Notes

• Being the introductory campaign for the game, the story told before and after each battle is heavily connected to the tutorial dialogues played between them. For the sake of keeping everything in one place, the pre-"Scouting the Area" tutorial has been given its own section, while any tutorial dialogues taking place after a battle are grouped with that battle in its synopsis.
• Every Autobot featured in the dialogues has their in-game Decepticon counterpart appearing as well, except for Grimlock–Razorclaw wouldn't make his first appearance in them until the start of the "Combiner Wars" campaign.

Transformers references

• To Blaster's annoyance, Starscream tells the Autobots that it never ends.
