Mini-Cons come in various forms, and the spheroid Cyclones are a particularly dangerous bunch. Each one transforms into a free-rolling wrecking ball with a hidden blaster-cannon, but their "robot" modes can be every bit as dangerous. Somewhat feral and absolutely capricious in personality, they are known for being absolute terrors when angry or threatened. They have simple wants, and are easily entertained. Many entertain themselves with mean-spirited pranks or just straight-up attack each other out of pure boredom.

Despite their often-unreliable nature, partnerships with larger Cybertronians are not unheard of. Particularly destructive warriors can impress them into joining up just for the fun of bashing stuff, though others just kind of follow orders to the best of their limited ability because... well, what else is there to do? And they can never actually speak, though- only able to communicate through grunts and weird noises.

So far, most of the Cyclones have found favor in the Decepticons (no big shocker there), but at least one has sided with the Autobots.

Ransack attacked a young Slipstream, stealing from him a ball bearing. The Tragedy of Slipstream

The Alchemor prisoners Backtrack and Ransack were freed from their stasis pods when Fracture had his Mini-Cons Airazor and Divebomb free them. The duo showed little interest in joining the Decepticon cause, preferring to beat up the bounty hunter and then going off to play with some rocks. Knock, Knock!

The two Cyclones found themselves in the middle of a conflict between the Decepticon Mini-Cons and the Autobots Slipstream and Jetstorm, with the Autobots looking to apprehend the two criminals. A Level Playing Field The Cyclones found themselves outmatched when the Autobots and Decepticons momentarily put their differences aside, and the Autobots wound up taking the incapacitated Mini-Cons back to base. Me when I'm looking for the small Lego piece I dropped on the carpet:

Backtrack and Ransack briefly escaped after a fight against Overload damaged their stasis pods. The two Mini-Cons were quick to return to their old rambunctious ways, briefly partnering up with the bigger Decepticon before Bumblebee used their love of noise to convince them to turn against the Decepticon spymaster. Overloaded, Part 1 Overloaded, Part 2

There were plenty more Cyclones aboard the Alchemor, and after the crash of the prison ship many of them chose to rally under the leadership of Glowstrike, Saberhorn, and Scorponok, the latter using the Cyclones Clout and Bludgeon as his personal henchmen. Metal Meltdown Misdirection Following Steeljaw's prison break, some of the new Decepticon recruits received Cyclone partners of their own. Misdirection The Autobots learned this the hard way when Bumblebee went up against Bisk and his new teammates Hammer and Anvil. Bumblebee's Night Off

Quillfire used Back and Forth during his string of thefts around Crown City, putting their complimentary magnetic powers to good use. Impounded

The disgraced Decepticon general Stockade used hundreds of the little guys, forming an army of Major Mayhems that he deployed against the Autobots in the hopes of getting even with Optimus Prime. Graduation Exercises

Rescue Bots cartoon

[edit]
The real question is: When he transforms, does he actually bounce?

A lone Cyclone by the name of Bounce escaped to Griffin Rock after a GroundBridge accident, where he began tagging buildings with Cybertronian graffiti. Sideswipe pursued him to the island, and with the help of Blurr and the other Rescue Bots the criminal was safely captured and returned to stasis. The Need for Speed

He shares a body-type with Backtrack and Ransack.

    Notes

    [edit]
    • Unaligned Mini-Cons that have seemingly limited vocal abilities? Hmm...
    • Although Undertone's toy is a Cyclone, he is a Buzzsaw in the cartoon.
    • Crazybolt's toy can only deploy Cyclones; however, his partner Slicedice is a Torpedo.
