Aztec Theatres is a movie theater from the Dreamwave portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
So what's your guess? Littlefoot's mother, Simba's father, the original cast of the cartoon or is the popcorn just sold out?

Aztec Theatres, located in San Desto, is a movie theater like any other. There is absolutely no reason to suspect that under it, a cavernous hideout exists. Or that that hideout belongs to an army of voracious, alien robots preparing for the right time to open attack. Nope, everything is as inconspicuous as possible, so why not head in and grab a movie? The choice is pretty good.

Yeah, that looks like a different word when it's thumbnailed.

Unit Bravo, sent to San Desto to investigate on the disappearance of the town's nine thousand citizens, came across the Aztec Theatres, playing Demon Swamp and Enter the Nightbird as a "kung fu creature double feature", and took a look inside. For some reason, Enter the Nightbird was running, distracting one of the duo by virtue of it being one of his favorite movies. As he sat down with a bowl of popcorn to watch his heroine in action, his colleague played a prank on him with the shadows of a Tako Tank toy's tentacles. Bombshell chose that moment to cerebro-shell the angered soldier, and when his partner came to investigate the sudden silence, did the same to him, though not before a warning could be sent out.

Two days later, a team of EDC soldiers and Autobots came to investigate on the events. They split up and the unit led by Bumper followed a foreboding trail into the Aztec Theatres. The ground began to shake all of a sudden, and a horde of Insecticon clones attacked and captured them. Only one soldier escaped to warn the others outside, moments before a second attack. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, gone into the theater in between warning and attack, descended into a tunnel leading to the Insecticons' hideout. Extermination

Notes

[edit]
  • The two movies Aztec Theatres features are called Enter the Nightbird and Demon Swamp. These are references to the Insecticons' roles in the Generation 1 cartoon. In the episode "Enter the Nightbird", Bombshell was responsible for upgrading the human-built drone Nightbird into a soldier for the Decepticon cause. Demon Swamp, on the other hand, was the location the Insecticons' capsule had landed and the trio had inhabited until Megatron re-recruited them.
