Dredbot draws a similar resemblance to ''The Dreads''. He transforms into a weathered Volkswagon Type-2 bus. Dreadbot has a distinct cybertronian weapon, notorious for effectively obliterating his victims. He has a large frame, which makes him invulnerable to any type of ammunition, as well as being able to break through walls with ease.

Dreadbot is a Decepticon from The Last Knight portion of the movie continuity family.
Ho ho ho, I'm hu-hu-hungry!

The monstrous hooligan known as Dreadbot is a tough, destructive thug who's hard to control and even harder to kill. His massive frame can slice through walls and protects him from virtually any known ammunition known to humans.[1] It seems a little weird that Dreadbot transforms into such a stereotypical symbol of peace and love, but maybe he's just got a sense of humor—check out those Christmas lights.

The Last Knight film

[edit]

Dreadbot was among the Decepticons in T.R.F.'s custody, having been incarcerated after committing a "bank robbery" that ended with nine people dead and the money behind untouched. He was one of the Decepticons whose release was negotiated by Megatron to help him hunt down Cade Yeager. Human lawyers initially denied Dreadbot's release, most likely due to the murders he committed. However, Megatron's threat of violence convinced them to reconsider and free him, provided he was fitted with a GPS tracking device.

Dreadbot followed his leader to Yeager's scrap yard, and then to a nearby town, but they were met with some not-quite-unexpected resistance in the form of the Autobots Bumblebee, Drift, and Crosshairs. During the ensuing fight, Grimlock arrived on the scene and began thrashing Megatron around. As a reward for running in to help his leader, Dreadbot found himself getting eaten by Grimlock. The Last Knight

Notes

[edit]
Dreadbot? No, seriously, how did this end up being the final name in the film over Hooligan?
  • Dreadbot began life as part of a set of concepts for "anarchist" Dreads, sporting crossed-through Autobot and Decepticon insignia. At this stage he was a direct recolor of Crowbar, and was labelled with that character's preproduction name of "Hooligan", perhaps indicating he was originally planned to be Crowbar himself.[2][3]
  • Dreadbot's final design acquired a Volkswagen Microbus alternate mode, with new robot mode elements to match, such as Christmas lights wrapped around his upper right arm and new Volkswagen kibble replacing the dreads on his back. The "Hooligan" name stuck around into the film's production, with the character referred to as such on set.
  • According to his TRF prisoner dossier bio, Dreadbot wields a distinctive Cybertronian firearm that obliterates its targets.[1]

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Dreadbot (ドレッドボット Doreddobotto)
  • Korean: Dreadbot (드레드봇 Deuledeubot)
  • Mandarin: Hacker (China, 骇客 Hàikè)
  • Russian: Dreadbot (Дрэдбот Dredbot)
