In the 25th Century, Triton infiltrated the Autobot ranks and passed secrets back to the Decepticons.
In the year 2510, after ninety years of spying, Triton was present when Rodimus Prime announced that the last remnants of the Decepticons had been destroyed. Unwilling to allow the Autobots to win the war, Triton objected to Springer being chosen as Rodimus Prime's successor and instead put forward Ultra Magnus as a potential leader; had Rodimus forgotten Magnus held the Matrix first? He encouraged the Autobots to argue and fanned the flames, and depressingly that proved to be pretty easy.
Things escalated when he and Whirl got into a fight, until Scattershot killed Roadbuster after the latter threatened Triton's life. Sandstorm, furious at Roadbuster's death, killed Triton in revenge for causing all the trouble in the first place. Triton died as the Autobots dissolved into a new civil war. The last act of the last Decepticon was to see that there would never truly be peace on Cybertron. Peace

Triton was Violator's second-in-command aboard the Rash Action and then the Fatal Consequence.
Triton was later forced to become part of Squadron X, a team of Decepticons which served as a brutal counterpart to the Autobots' Wreckers, when he gained notoriety for annihilating a 20-strong Autobot boarding party. Triton's Squadron X profile In Squadron X, Triton made a friend in Crosscut when the two were welded together by Springer in battle. Crosscut's Squadron X profile The Wreckers and Squadron X's rivalry came to a head on Pova, but after being dispatched in battle, he and the rest of Squadron X were rounded up in a containment unit and put in inhibitor harnesses.
According to Fisitron's Wreckers: Declassified datalogs, Triton and the other members of Squadron X were able to somehow escape their harnesses, forcing the Wreckers to execute rather than imprison them. Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 In truth, Squadron X was to be freed due to the violation of Pova's neutrality act, but Impactor killed them all instead. Last Stand of the Wreckers #5
