The name or term "Scrapper" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Scrapper (disambiguation).
Scrapper is a Decepticon Constructicon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the movie continuity family.
Dammit, my hand fell off again.

Scrapper is a Constructicon Scout that transforms into a front load shovel. When combined with his fellow Constructicons, he becomes the right arm of Devastator. He may also share a name with another robot of the same model who saw action at the battle of Egypt, or yet a third one who saw action in the battle of Chicago.

"Look! I did appear in the movie! For all of ten seconds..."

During the climactic battle in Egypt between the Autobots, their human NEST allies and The Fallen's Decepticons, Scrapper joined Starscream's group to search for the fugitive Sam Witwicky. When the boy and Mikaela Banes were flushed out of hiding, Scrapper attempted to crush them with his chained fist/mace, but the humans escaped in the chaos.

"And I outlived all the Constructicons that got toys, too!"

Scrapper was one of the last Decepticons to be destroyed when the United States Air Force bombed the heck out of the battlefield. Revenge of the Fallen

Another Constructicon sharing the same body-type as Scrapper appears during Operation: Firestorm as Devastator's right arm.
Scrapper's involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the novel The Last Prime; the comic mini-series Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Official Movie Adaptation; and the storybook "Rise of the Decepticons".

"So why don't I have a Voyager toy?!"
  • Scrapper (EZ Collection DX, 2009)
Part of the Takara "EZ Collection" series, Scrapper transforms into an "earth mover" dump truck. He can also combine with the other six Constructicons (sold separately) to form a tiny little Devastator: Scrapper becomes the combined mode's right arm.
Despite being one of the smaller Constructicons on-screen, he is the tallest toy in robot mode in this set.

  • Constructicon Devastator (Legends Class multi-pack, 2010)
In Hasbro's markets, the Legends-class Constructicons were sold together in a Walmart exclusive 7-pack. They are otherwise identical to the prior Takara releases.
This set also included Hightower, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Overload, Rampage, and Scavenger.

  • Devastator "Origin Color" Set (EZ Collection, 2010)
Takara reissued the complete team of seven Legend class Constructicons in a singular box set. This time around, every toy has been redone in a Generation-1-Constructicon-inspired bright green and purple color scheme.

Supreme Combiner Class

[edit]
"And why don't I have a Voyager toy that transforms?!"
  • Constructicon Devastator (Supreme Combiner Class, 2009)
Scrapper is a scoop loader that becomes one of Devastator's arms. In fiction and in the instructions, he forms the right arm. As with the other Constructicons in this set, he lacks a robot mode. Bummer. He also has the code "BG-E" printed below his Decepticon symbol.
Scrapper's left and right rear step guard-railings are also removeable and are usually one of the few things missing when buying Devastator second hand.

Mega Power Bots

[edit]
"... into a robot?! Why don't I have a Voyager toy that transforms into a robot??!!"
  • Constructicon Devastator (Mega Power Bot, 2009)
Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal.
Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs.
Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws.

Transformers (2010)

[edit]
"Two! That's two homages! Why do I still not have a Voyager toy??!!
  • Constructicon Devastator (Legends Class multi-pack, 2010)
A Toys"R"Us-exclusive Generation 1-themed redeco of Legends Devastator and his components. Unlike Takara's go at the same idea, Scrapper and the other Constructicons are mostly just lime green and gray, with the only bits of purple being their windshields. They do, however, have brown paint operations on and around their wheels to simulate dirt.

"That’s it! I give up!"
  • Megatron Rising (Multi-pack)
This retailer exclusive multi-pack recreated the scene in Revenge of the Fallen where the Constructicons resurrect Megatron. This red redeco of Scrapper was most likely intended to be Scrapmetal, better known as "Ze little one" who was sacrificed to rebuild the Decepticon leader. He comes packed with (apparently) unchanged Constructicon Devastator figures of Long Haul, Rampage, Mixmaster, and a metallic green redeco of Voyager Class Megatron.
It has never been revealed for which retailer this multi-pack was intended.

Movie Advanced Series

[edit]
  • Devastator (Gift set, 2014)
  • ID number: AD13
Released as part of Takara's Movie Advanced Series Devastator set, Scrapper is a redeco of the ROTF Legends Scrapper to closely resemble his on-screen portrayal.

Studio Series

[edit]
"Wait, never mind!"
  • Constructicon Scrapper (Voyager Class, 2020)
Released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Revenge of the Fallen, Studio Series "Constructicon Scrapper" is accurate to the character's appearance in Revenge of the Fallen. He comes with a cardboard backdrop display depicting Operation: Firestorm.
Scrapper can be combined with the rest of the Studio Series Constructicons to form Devastator, forming the entirety of the titan's right arm.
Like the majority of the Studio Series Constructicons, he lacks a Decepticon symbol.
An unknown amount of Scrappers have their thighs missassembled, resulting in their ladders hanging upside down in his alternate mode.

  • Devastator (Gift set, 2020)
  • Movie: Revenge of the Fallen
  • ID number: 69
This boxset contains 8 of the Studio Series Constructicons seen in the Revenge of the Fallen film. In order to keep Devastator accurate to his on-screen appearance, Skipjack is included in the set, completely omitting Rampage, as he was busy elsewhere.
This release of Scrapper features additional metal wear-and-tear paint applications on the buckets that become Devastator's fingertips.
The gift set was announced on the October 16 Fan First Friday.

Merchandise

[edit]

Burger King

[edit]
No, you can't use him as reusable mousetrap bait. We've tried.
  • Constructin' Devastator (2009)
An extremely-simplified version of Scrapper's vehicle mode is included as part of Burger King Devastator. Though his ball socket is compatible with any of Devastator's limb connections, it's marked with an A to indicate he forms Devastator's right arm.

Notes

[edit]
Scrapper or Scrapmetal? Hell if we know.
  • In the scene where the Constructicons revive Megatron, an aerial shot of the Constructicons in vehicle form shows a Decepticon with a front load shovel alternate mode and body type similar to Scrapper. However Hasbro do not consider ze little one Scrapper, based on their comment that Demolishor, Rampage, Mixmaster, and Long Haul received figures first because they had more screen time. Therefore, that has been established as separate character Scrapmetal.
    • However, a later shot showed a Volvo excavator in place of the front loader. Therefore, Scrapper was not killed by his fellow Constructicons. He is still considered dead from aerial bombardment, though.
  • Besides Scrapmetal, Scrapper also shares a body-type with Trench.
Well, at least part of me made it into the movie...
  • Interestingly, the scrapped "Constructicon Nurse" designed by Steve Jung seems to have the exact same torso and upper arms as Scrapper.
