The name or term "Dead End" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dead End (disambiguation).
Dead End is a Decepticon from the Aligned continuity family.
I Have a Gaping Hole for a Mouth, and I Can Only Scream

Dark Energon can do strange and horrific things. Once a chatty hired thug, long-term exposure to the substance has left Dead End a silent, brooding shell of a bot with an insatiable hunger for power. While the Autobots have always thought of him as rather freaky, his recent change in personality and behavior has made even his fellow Decepticons rather unnerved, with Dead End hiding in the darkness, eyeing his comrades and their power cores as rich sources of energy, and waiting.

  • Series / number: 1 / 010
  • Accessories: 2 laser swords
Released in the fourth wave of Hasbro's Prime: Robots in Disguise Deluxes, Dead End is a retooling and redeco of Wheeljack, transforming into a modified 2011 Lancia New Stratos Concept. He sports a new head, which has light-piping not only for his eyes, but also his huge, screaming mouth.
He comes with two swords which can stow underneath the vehicle, or attach under the front bumper to create an attack mode. In robot mode, Dead End can either hold the swords, mount them on his shoulders using 5mm posts, or they can be inserted into slots near his wings.
This mold was differently retooled into Prime Wildrider and Timelines Chromedome.

Part of the third wave of Construct-Bots Scouts, Dead End comes as a set of disassembled parts. Once assembled into a robotic skeleton, his armor pieces can be added, allowing him to transform into a weird car/jet/dragster-thing without disassembly. As all of his parts use universal joints and connectors, you can mix-and-match pieces from other sets to create some truly interesting monstrosities.
Much of his armor is recycled from other figures: he has Soundwave's chest, feet, and forearms, Bumblebee's back plate and nose cone, Wheeljack's leg armor, and Megatron's shoulder and thigh armor. His head is a retool of Smokescreen's which replaces his humanoid face with a gas-mask to go along with Dead End's toxic scheme.

Notes

[edit]
  • As noted above, Dead End's model is usable in War for Cybertron multiplayer as the Tracker-type chassis for Scout-class characters. His parts are also available in Fall of Cybertron, now classified as Assassin-type components for the Infiltrator class (although his wheels can also be used by Destroyers).
  • Like the rest of the DLC characters, Dead End in Escalation shares voice lines with his Multiplayer class. In this case, he’s voiced by Patrick Seitz.
