It's the final test to graduate Year Two and the recruits are nervous. Though Hot Shot's got something else on his mind—making sure his teachers know just how much he appreciates them. And thanks to a perilous turn of events, he might just get the chance to prove it.
Synopsis
[edit]The recruits are waiting anxiously for their next test which will decide whether or not they graduate, with Hoist worrying particularly hard. Hot Shot is determined they'll all pass. They assemble in Hero Hall with their waiting mentors as Heatwave starts the final sim they will have to conquer. They set about rescuing people from a bridge and are almost finished when a news helicopter strikes the side of the structure. Medix deals with that, however a ship is now heading for the bridge as well. The recruits manage to open the bridge just enough for the ship to squeeze through, completing the simulation successfully. Heatwave congratulates them but says there's one more thing they need to do. He contacts Citadel Secundus in space to let him know the Rescue Bots are on the way... for the year two graduation party.
The recruits are excited at the prospect of a party, though Hot Shot reflects on how much progress they've made over the last two years. Wedge invites Laserbeak along, though the ex-Decepticon isn't keen. As the recruits head through the space bridge, Hot Shot hangs back and tells Medix he forgot something. He immediately runs into Whirl, who is concerned something's up—Hot Shot wants to thank the teachers for not giving up on him, and is going to create art using nanotech. The pair set about starting on the design he's drawn up.
Optimus Prime joins the party on Secundus, though while everyone is partying, Wedge is moping and wondering how he can get Laserbeak to join the party. As he stares out of the window, he spies an asteroid barrelling down on them. Unfortunately he's too late to sound a warning, and the asteroid strikes Citadel Secundus. Meanwhile Hot Shot and Whirl are not having much success creating the sculpture. Hot Shot is determined to finish it, but they're interrupted by an emergency—a fragmented transmission from Wedge lets them know of the situation in space, and the asteroid has created an anti-energon field that's knocked everyone out. What's worse, though Whirl says they can theoretically just wait for the field to disperse, Secundus is currently on a collision course for Earth. Cody is off at First Responder camp, meaning Hot Shot and Whirl are on their own.

Quotes
[edit]"Exactly! It's just one little test to decide whether we graduate year two with honors, or fail miserably and get kicked out of the Academy."
"Ah, and I was worried."
- —Medix and Hoist
"So no more tests?"
"Only if you count a dance off to end all dance offs."
- —Hoist and Grimlock
"If you squint and turn your head upside down it does sorta look like Bumblebee throwing a football with Medix."
- —Whirl on their progress with the sculpture.
