[[IDW Publishing]] has announced that they will be releasing a comic series that will accompany the [[Transformers Animated]] cartoon series, using screencaps of the show rather than conventional illustration. As such, the issues of this comic will parallel the cartoon episodes, with the first issue covering the show's pilot and each subsequent issue covering two cartoon episodes. The first two issues are expected to go on sale January 15, 2008. The third and fourth issues will be on sale May 25 and July 25 2008, respectively.

Hasbro also released the exclusive comic "First (and Second) in Flight" bundled in with the Jetfire and Jetstorm two-pack. This issue was originally solicited as the sixth issue of The Arrival, but the standalone comic was later canceled. It was included in the trade paperback release though.
