The name or term "Generations" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Generations (disambiguation).

Transformers Generations (トランスフォーマー ジェネレーション) is a series of yearly guidebooks produced largely by Hero-X Publishing detailing and chronicling the Transformers franchise, especially as it pertains to Japan. While they are, unsurprisingly, primarily concerned with acting as a catalog of the year's product, they also function as the primary regular source of interviews with the TakaraTomy design team and other behind the scenes tidbits from the Japanese side of the brand.

Transformers Generations editions

Fiction

[edit]

In addition to their bevvy of real-world material, each edition of Transformers Generations typically features a small piece of fiction from a major creator on the brand. The content of these stories varies, but on balance they usually either supplement the creators' existing body of work or advertise the year's premium product. Some overachievers have even been known to do both. As of 2026 they include:

Toys

[edit]

The Generations series has played host to a variety of mail-away exclusives packed alongside the guidebooks themselves:

Deluxe (2004) 2009 2011 2012
2013 2014 2015

Merchandise

[edit]

In addition to the figures listed above Generations series has included some... less exciting exclusive content along with the guidebooks over the years:

If you build it, they will play.
