Duke Fire is Optimus Prime's power-up drone partner who would be used to save Rodimus's life.

Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

In Primax 092.0 Beta, Duke Fire was constructed as a power-up device for Optimus Prime's new form, Star Convoy. However in the conflict against Dark Nova, Rodimus was severely injured defending Zone from a Great Galaman invasion. Subsequently, Rodimus's essence was transferred into Duke Fire, and thus he became known as Fire Rodimus. Star Convoy and Fire Rodimus's powerful combined form, Supernova Convoy, defeated Star Giant and Ultra Megatron. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/08/15

Notes

[edit]
  • New Rodimus was the tentative name for an unproduced Rodimus Prime toy concept revealed in the Japanese book Transformers Generations. Unlike his predecessors, he would have transformed into a fire engine. According to the caption in the book, New Rodimus would have come out after Star Convoy, and his transformation would involve splitting at the waist. Coincidentally, the Brave toy/character Duke Fire (デュークファイヤー Dyūku Faiyā) used a similar transformation scheme.[1] For many years fans mistakenly assumed the similarity to be intentional; hence when Ask Vector Prime retroactively created an origin for the Fire Rodimus from Regeneration One #93, his body module was named in homage to Duke Fire.
