Chris Metzen (born November 22, 1973) is the co-writer (with Flint Dille) of The Transformers: Autocracy and its two follow-up series, Monstrosity and Primacy. A video game designer at Blizzard Entertainment, he contributed scripts to the Warcraft and StarCraft series, among others, and has begun branching into comic book writing.
Metzen is a serious fan of Transformers, citing The Transformers: The Movie and Simon Furman's body of work as his main inspiration, and has admitted to being a fan of the then-ongoing and All Hail Megatron alongside Maximum Dinobots and Last Stand of the Wreckers.
Metzen went on to become the Chief Creative Officer at Warchief Gaming before eventually returning to Blizzard, and later wrote the foreword to the Transformers Roleplaying Game core rulebook.
Outside of writing, Metzen has a fair share of voice acting with Blizzard, having voiced Thrall in Warcraft and Bastion in Overwatch. He also voiced the archdragon Avizandum in the Netflix-original series The Dragon Prince.
