The [[franchises]] featured Functions as part of characters' bios from the beginning.  The ''[[Transformers: Armada (franchise)|Armada]]'' toyline was the first not to regularly include it as part of the character's description. From that point on they were mostly absent from main line releases, until the ''[[Transformers: Prime (franchise)|Transformers: Prime]]'' [[Cyberverse (toyline)|Cyberverse]] toys brought them back, partnered with the character names on the front of the packaging.
