The name or term "Revenge" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Revenge (disambiguation).
The Revenge is a starship from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
To infinity and beyoooond!

The Revenge is a mighty warship granted to Galvatron by Unicron. It has a pretty good success rate of blowing up Autobot shuttles.

Fiction

[edit]

The Transformers cartoon

[edit]
For a big ship, it sure looks cramped.

The Revenge was given to Galvatron by Unicron shortly after the former was reformatted from the broken body of Megatron. The Revenge ferried Galvatron back to Cybertron, where he seized the reins of Decepticon command from the treacherous Starscream. After the Decepticons attacked Autobot City on Earth for the second time, the Revenge pursued two fleeing Autobot shuttles commanded by Ultra Magnus and Kup, successfully forcing one shuttle to crash on a strange, twisted world and apparently destroying Magnus's shuttle.

When Galvatron dared challenge Unicron with the Matrix of Leadership, the Chaos Bringer attacked Cybertron. The Revenge was crushed by Unicron in the subsequent battle. The Transformers: The Movie

In 2006, the Revenge scored another victory against the Autobots by blasting Rodimus Prime's shuttle and forcing the crew to make an emergency landing at the Autobot Mausoleum. Dark Awakening Later, Galvatron and Cyclonus boarded the ship to follow Scourge, who had stolen leadership from Galvatron, to Earth. The Burden Hardest to Bear

In the year 2007, the Revenge was used during Galvatron's attack on Autobot City after the end of the short-lived truce between the two factions. After the key to the Plasma Energy Chamber was secured, the Decepticons made their getaway in the Revenge. The Rebirth, Part 1 After the devastating attack on Cybertron, the Revenge was used by Scourge, Cyclonus, and a squad of Decepticons to pursue some wayward Autobots to the planet Nebulos. While parked there, it was destroyed by the newly created Autobot Headmasters, who then towed the completely undamaged ship back to the Nebulan rebel's base. The Rebirth, Part 2

  • Galvatron (Leader Class, 2021)
    • Hasbro ID number: WFC-K28
    • TakaraTomy ID number: KD-16

Generations Selects

[edit]
  • Galvatron (Leader Class, 2021)
    • Hasbro ID number: WFC-GS27
    • TakaraTomy release date: March 26, 2022
A Generations Selects add-on to Kingdom, this version of Galvatron is a redeco of the above Leader Class figure in Generation 1 toy-accurate colors. The two Revenge blasters are now black, matching G1 Galvatron's original gun.

Two of these...
and one of these!
  • Behold, Galvatron! Unicron Companion Pack (2022)
In honor of the 35th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie, the Revenge was included as part of the "Unicron Companion Pack" meant to serve as an extra accessory for the gigantic War for Cybertron Trilogy Unicron figure. The Revenge was made of painted rubbery plastic and could peg onto the small clear display stand that came with Unicron.
The Unicron Companion Pack was included with "Behold, Galvatron!"—another redeco of the Kingdom Leader figure, now done in translucent purple. That figure includes its own translucent purple versions of the Revenge blasters shown above, meaning there were three of the same ship included in this set, but only one that could fit onto the intended ship stand. This set was exclusively available through Hasbro Pulse.

Studio Series

[edit]
  • Galvatron (Leader Class, 2025)
  • Movie: The Transformers: The Movie
  • Hasbro ID number: 86-31
  • Takara ID number: SS-145
  • TakaraTomy release date: April 26, 2025
Kingdom Galvatron was redecoed again for the Studio Series '86 line, now featuring a more movie-accurate color scheme. The Revenge blasters are still included, albeit in a muted gray color rather than the silver of the original Kingdom version.

Notes

[edit]
What the heck? Did they do a trade-in along the way?
  • The ship is never given a name in the show, but Galvatron does refer to it as "the mothership" at the start of "The Rebirth, Part 1" episode. The name comes from Transformers: The Complete Ark.
  • We do not actually see the ship created; it slips out of an opening near the equatorial section of Unicron.
  • It is consistent with other Decepticon ships in the Generation 1 cartoon, in that it is completely purple and has a purple afterburner.
  • Among its arsenal are torpedoes, multiple cannons (presumably lasers), and moleculon missiles.
  • Although the Revenge is drawn with its normal model during the attack on Autobot City and its subsequent sojourn to Cybertron in the first part of "The Rebirth", it looks entirely different once it lands on Nebulos. It's possible Cyclonus and friends used some other Decepticon ship to make the trip, but the Revenge is never seen again after this ship's destruction...
  • According to Floro Dery, the starship was originally intended to be oriented upside-down. Good thing there's no up in space!
