The evil thoughts of the evil Megatron are transmitted (evilly) from his evil brain to his evil body by brain impulses... evil brain impulses!
These carriers of neuro-impulses are strangely physical. They resemble worms with a dragon's head. Though they purportedly travel through wires, they actually kind of just fly above the wire, and anybody who is small enough can just grab one and hitch a ride to wherever the evil brain impulses happen to be going.
They are evil.

Using the transmat reduction beam, Perceptor, Brawn, and Bumblebee shrank down to microscopic size and infiltrated Megatron's body, in order to remove the energy maximizer known as the Heart of Cybertron before the Decepticon leader could use it against the Autobots.
After several hours of wandering through Megatron's torso and shoulder, the three Autobots arrived inside Megatron's brain chamber. Before Brawn could proceed to "bash brains", a series of electrical worm thingers came flying out of Megatron's brain. Perceptor identified them as brain impulses—evil brain impulses—carrying orders to the Heart of Cybertron. The three Autobots grabbed onto one of the evil brain impulses, and it swiftly carried them to the Heart's location. They let go just before the impulse plunged into the Heart of Cybertron, seemingly vaporizing in the process.
By this point, Megatron was carrying out an assault against the Autobots. Because of this, the constant stream of impulses made it nearly impossible for Perceptor to reach and disconnect the wires feeding commands to the energy booster; Brawn had to save Perceptor from one of the oncoming evil brain impulses as he severed one of the wires. On the verge of triumph, Megatron ceased firing for a moment to gloat, stopping the flow of evil brain impulses; this allowed Perceptor to reach and disconnect the final wire. Microbots

[edit]- The brain impulses and the plot point about evil thoughts were not present in the original script. Their roles would have been filled by robotic antibodies, but writer David Wise claims the story editors might have found this too scientific and altered them to cause Megatron's evil impulses.<ref>Per David Wise's Youtube comment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU4pGxycmfs</ref>
