He first gained prominence in North America playing the homicidal Gaear Grimsrud in Fargo (alongside Frances McDormand), and had notable roles in The Lost World, Minority Report (both directed by Steven Spielberg), Armageddon (directed by Michael Bay), and Hamilton.
