Topspin is aghast at Alpha Trion's betrayal -- has he not been a loyal subject?  Alpha Trion calmly explains that he can make "reunification" work with one of them dead, but not all of them. Landquake, meanwhile, quickly plots an escape; he uses his powers to manipulate the some of the raw energon stored in the room, impaling Perceptor. As Breakaway carries Skyfall, Landquake covers their escape with smoke bombs, all the while telling Topspin that he has been betrayed, and he should flee with them. Topspin realizes it's true, and in a fury he fries Kickback. Just as Breakaway gives up on Topspin joining them, he does so, asking for Landquake's help in seeking revenge. Landquake agrees to help, for Skyfall's sake, but leads the group away for now. Scattorshot is eager to pursue, but Alpha Trion has the Technobots hold off for now.  The planet is his... there's nowhere his prey can hide.

Weeks later, Landquake's team is holed up in yet another run-down facility, with Skyfall lying on a table and some Empties lounging about.  Despite their powers, they have not been able to revive Skyfall, and the stress of inaction and indecision is beginning to tell on them all.  Skyfall was the one who understood what they were looking for; in his absence, Landquake is tired of being treated like the group's leader. Breakaway says he must accept that the position has fallen to him, and that with events gathering pace, they must take action or be swept away.
