[edit]One day, Cryotek introduced himself to some new clientele, the just-arrived Autobots Jackpot and Hubcap. He kept an eye on their business, particularly when Hubcap lost a slew of credits to a regular named Gutcruncher in a game of cards. When Gutcruncher offered them an opportunity to recoup their losses, the Autobots were planning to drive straight in the other direction until Cryotek stepped in. He coolly vouched for Gutcruncher's credibility and even offered to ask his mech Backslash to keep an eye out for them at Gutcruncher's big meeting.
A few cycles later, Jackpot and Hubcap had been framed for the assassination of Gutcruncher and were on the run from everyone in Axiom Nexus, from the Malignus Revolutionary Army to Commander Cheetor and the Security Administration. Thanks a lot, Cryotek.
The Autobots made their way back to The Blue Deployer looking for sanctuary, but Cryotek regretfully could offer none. Although he generously offered not to turn them into any of their new admirers, Cryotek insisted the duo vacate his premises. The Autobots eventually managed to save themselves and clear their names, but the whole situation left an itch on Commander Cheetor's back... one he suspected Cryotek could scratch. The real assailant was Black Shadow, a mech in Cryotek's employ who managed to mention he had been paid for the assassination before he was killed by a mob, his head went missing and his shell got scorched beyond recognition by acid...all ensuring no further data could be extracted from him. Cheetor made a show of questioning Cryotek but had no proof to support his theories, and so they could do little more than go through the typical dance steps: "I know you did it. You know I know. And I know you know that I know..." Gone Too Far
Although Cryotek is usually on the ball, the arrival of the GoBots apparently didn't show up on his radar. He was caught completely unawares when Cheetor came to The Blue Deployer to inform him of the death of his employee, Comet. It seemed the busboy had been dealing with the Renegade named Bug Bite and caught the raw end of the negotiation, courtesy of Bug Bite's open-palmed hand blaster. Cryotek was uncharacteristically willing to help Cheetor's investigation into Comet's death as best he could. Much fortune to Bug Bite for having escaped Axiom Nexus before Cryotek managed to settle accounts. Withered Hope
