The name or term "Grindor" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Grindor (disambiguation).
Grindor is a Decepticon-allied Mini-Con from the Unicron Trilogy and Generation 1 continuity families.
TREADHEAD SEATS ARE STILL JUST TEN BUCKS! WE'LL SELL YOU THE SEAT BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDDDDDDDDGE!!

Grindor is the apparent leader of the Dirt Digger Team, a band of rowdy roughnecks whose backwoods mannerisms mask their incredible skill as spies. Grindor in particular likes to disguise his true intelligence behind a "lumbering brain-dead brute" act, keeping friend and foe alike off-guard. At all times during an attack, he carefully coordinates his team's efforts through a series of encrypted transmissions. Despite all other aspects of his behavior being a meticulously crafted ruse, Grindor enjoys painfully crushing his victims just as much as he lets on.[1]

FIRE UP YOUR MACHINE, AND FEEL THE ENGINE ROAR!!
  • Dirt Digger Team (Mini-Con Team, 2007)
Released in the second wave of Classics Mini-Con three-packs, Grindor transforms into a 1950 Chevrolet Panel truck with oversized "monster truck" tires. As a Mini-Con, he has a pair of "Powerlinx" sockets on the underside of his vehicle mode that allow him to attach to larger toys with compatible Powerlinx plugs.
It's unclear if his wheels are misassembled or not: his official stock photos depict the wheels with the pegs as the rear wheels and the wheels with the corresponding holes as the front wheels. The toy itself has the wheels swapped, which is backed up by his instructions. Either way works, as it does not affect his functionality or transformation in any way whatsoever, and one would never notice if it weren't for the stock photos.
He was only available as part of the Dirt Digger Team, packaged with his teammates Dirt Rocket and Oil Slick.
This sculpt was also used to make Universe Bodyblock, who uses the wheel assembly shown in Grindor's stock photos.

Notes

[edit]
  • Grindor's alternate mode and colors are inspired by the famous monster truck Grave Digger.
  • In the official stock photo of his robot mode, his head is folded down. Whoops!
  • Grindor's mold was never released in Japan, though a purple test shot was exhibited at Transformers Expo in 2014.[2]
