*Many of the gags in the manga derive from word puns that Japan is famous for. Notes

[edit]
  • Many of the gags in the manga derive from word puns that Japan is famous for. For example, Armada Megatron and Demolishor are "tanks" - 戦車 (せんしゃ sensha), but the pun on sensha is that it can also be written as 洗車 for "car wash". Result? Them going through the car wash. This makes translators flail in agony on trying to figure out how to keep the puns as intact as possible.
  • Takarayama's name is written as タカラ山, which can also pun on "treasure mountain" or "mountain of treasure" (宝山). And he turns out to be Generation 1 Megatron's homeroom teacher.
  • Armada Optimus and Energon Optimus are considered separate characters here, although mostly for comedic effect.
