Landmine is an Autobot from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
It's clobberin' time!

Landmine is a fighter. He lives by a soldier's code and thrives on honor and loyalty to his comrades and commanders. Unlike his brother Landquake, he thoroughly enjoys the life of a warrior. Landmine's rough around the edges and a little old-fashioned, but he's got a warm heart under that gruff exterior. Since he's so old, he bruises easily, but after some mechanical tinkering from Red Alert or Coby, he's always back up on his feet, anxious to re-enter the battle swingin'.

In his millennia of existence, he has trained a number of warriors, including Mudflap and Optimus Prime.

Landmine, Prowl, and Inferno were on a field mission to uncover new sources of energon on Earth. Unfortunately for Landmine, they found it atop a vaguely tall hill. Huffing and puffing, Landmine complained loudly about having to climb all the way up to meet his comrades. Laughing off Landmine's hypochondria, Inferno told him to stop fooling around and radio Prime for an Energon Tower. Optimus Prime denied the request, reporting Decepticon shenanigans in the area. Sure enough, Megatron soon attacked with a flock of Divebomb drones and Insecticons that tunneled up through the hill itself. Despite the power of Powerlinx, the Autobots gave up the fight and fled with their tailpipes between their legs. Energon Volume 2

When Rodimus left Cybertron eons ago, Landmine was one of the Transformers who chose to go with him. Serving as a traffic guard until the war escalated, Landmine boarded Rodimus' vessel along with his co-worker and partner, Prowl, a patrol officer. Landmine would become Rodimus' right-hand soldier and his personal bodyguard. On their long trek through the universe, Landmine and Rodimus' crew came to Planet Q, and swore an oath to protect it from harm. They were absent from the planet the day Unicron arrived to devour it, however, and failed to uphold their promise. This loss weighed heavily on Rodimus, and when he heard of Alpha Q's return countless years later, he renewed their association. Learning that Unicron's power could be used to restore lost planets, Rodimus, Prowl and Landmine dedicated themselves to fulfilling their original promise and helping Alpha Q gather enough energon to recreate his world. The Legend of Rodimus Alpha Q: Identity

As they first eached Earth's solar system, Landmine and the others confronted Scorponok and the Terrorcons on Mars. The Legend of Rodimus Later, they appeared on the moon, watching over a battle between Megatron and Optimus Prime. Rodimus ordered them not to get directly involved in the skirmish, but they had no choice when Demolishor and Cyclonus tried to kidnap the energon-sensitive youth, Kicker Jones. From a concealed location, Rodimus, Landmine and Prowl blasted at Cyclonus, forcing him to veer off and avoid grabbing Kicker. The warriors three vanished before Kicker could figure out where the shots came from, and who saved him. Kicker Beware! Landmine's team also intervened when Megatron attempted to destroy Earth with artificial comets, commandeering some of Alpha Q's Terrorcons to ram the first comet into obliteration. Energon Grid

During their first encounter with the Autobots under Optimus Prime's command on Mars, Rodimus tried to convince Hot Shot to leave Alpha Q to his own affairs. When that failed a fight broke out, and Landmine stepped in to restrain the exuberant Ironhide. He chastised the younger Autobots for striking a commanding officer in the field. After a brief pounding, Rodimus and his crew departed before Ironhide or Hot Shot could stop them. Rodimus Friend or Foe?

When Megatron put Scorponok's life in peril to lure Alpha Q out into the open, Rodimus and his crew stepped in to fetch Scorponok instead. Landmine initially stressed caution over approaching Scorponok's manacled form, as the situation just screamed "trap". Rodimus agreed, but when he told Landmine and Prowl to wait in the ship as back-up while he retrieved Scorponok alone, the troops found they could not let their leader go out on his own. Sure enough, Starscream and the other Decepticons emerged to attack Prowl and the others. Working with the Powerlinxed Prowl and Rodimus, however, Landmine helped disable the entire Decepticon force until Megatron ordered a retreat, leaving them alone with Scorponok. Go for Unicron!

After Rodimus made a failed attempt to parley with Optimus Prime aboard the Miranda II, they returned to Alpha Q at Unicron's head. During the trip, they noticed Ironhide had hitched a ride to track them back to their base. Prowl expressed some reluctance to continue assisting Alpha Q, especially when the creature spotted Ironhide and began to threaten him, but Rodimus and Landmine silenced him. They owed Alpha Q and his lost planet a debt of honor, and that was the end of it. A Tale of Two Heros Landmine watched over the captive Ironhide in Alpha Q's throne room after Scorponok secured the infiltrator, and later piloted Rodimus's ship out to meet Kicker, who was searching for his partner. They ferried him back to Alpha Q, and the boy was ultimately able to negotiate an alliance between Alpha Q and the main Autobot team. Battle Stations Alpha Q: Identity Despite the peace between Kicker and Alpha Q, Optimus Prime wasn't willing to blindly accept Rodimus and the alien after their past misdeeds. Landmine and Prowl stepped between Optimus and Rodimus as they met, but nonetheless a brief fight broke out until Kicker demanded the two heroes end their hostilities. Shockblast: Rampage

As the collected Autobots met with Alpha Q, he lost control of Unicron's head as it reflexively reached out searching for more energon. With Optimus Prime's permission, Rodimus commandeered a team of Omnicons to travel to Unicron's core and release energon stars into it in order to satisfy him. Landmine and Prowl accompanied the expedition and, eventually, they fought through a maze of lethal energon-absorbing spikes to reach their goal. Survival Instincts Later he fought alongside the other Autobots in defense of Cybertron's energon towers in an attack led by Shockblast. Each One Fights... A highly-successful Terrorcon raid delivered enough energon to Megatron to transform Unicron and directly threaten Cybertron. Landmine and the Autobots made an effort to breach Unicron's defenses and attack Megatron within. Unicron Unleashed

Landmine and the rest of the Autobots raced through Unicron's corridors in an attempt to locate Megatron. They fought through many Terrorcons and the remnants of the Decepticon military. Open Fire! During their trek, Rodimus renounced his command status, making Optimus Prime officially in charge of all the Autobot forces. Landmine and Prowl followed their leader's direction and pledged themselves to Optimus and his cause. As Alpha Q began accumulating massive amounts of energon in his portion of Unicron, Optimus sent Hot Shot, Landmine and Prowl out into space to ensure his escape. Instead, Alpha Q's positively charged portion of Unicron met with Megatron's negatively charged portion, creating a tear in the fabric of space. Landmine and the Autobots attempted to avoid its pull, but the rift was too strong. Landmine was struck by debris and carried into the rift, with Prowl and Hot Shot following to rescue him. Ripped Up Space The trio were trapped in the debris field near Unicron on the other side of the void until they spotted Rodimus's banner, and followed it to clear space. Landmine rejoined the Autobot team on Iron Planet, and helped drive off a Decepticon attack. Imprisoned Inferno They began a search for Unicron, but broke off the mission to aid the Miranda II in defense of Jungle Planet. Jungle Planet

As the Autobots prepped for an energon tower being delivered from Cybertron, Landmine helped clear a landing spot on Jungle Planet for the tower to touch down. When the Terrorcons staged an assault, he defended the energon in order to buy time. Eventually the energon tower landed and powered up, sending out a destructive wave that cleared the Terrorcons from the planet. Bulkhead Next, the Autobots prepared to establish an energon grid between the various planets. Landmine joined Rodimus and Inferno on Blizzard Planet as they fought off Megatron, Starscream and the Terrorcons. Later, during the second attempt at raising the Ocean Planet tower, he lay in wait with Rodimus and Prowl under the seas to prevent Mirage from toppling the new tower at its base the same as he did for the first. In the end, all the towers were raised and the grid came online. Farewell Inferno

Landmine stood solemnly by when Optimus dispatched Jetfire to bring Inferno's raw spark back to Primus for repairs. Later, he and Rodimus's team remained behind to guard the planets protected by the Autobot energon grid while Prime led another force to the new Planet Q. Return! Our Scorponok

Once Circuit Planet was up and running, Landmine participated in the first Autobot Grand Prix for some R&R with his buddies. Despite his bulky construction, Landmine did surprisingly well in the early race, maintaining a strong third place behind Hot Shot and Cliffjumper. He eventually dropped behind once Ironhide powered through to the front. Crash Course

After Wing Saber located Unicron's body, Landmine and the Autobots staged an assault on the Planet-Eater, but were unable to keep Megatron from making Unicron fully operational again. A fleet of energon tower were sent from Cybertron like javelin to impale the now-mobile Unicron. Omega Supreme The energon towers failed, and so Landmine and the Autobots attempted to gain access to Unicron's interior to strike back from the inside. They were driven off when Unicron plowed into the planetary energon grid, though, and were unable to prevent Unicron from reclaiming his head from Alpha Q's Energon Orb. A Heroic Battle

As Unicron began to awaken, Landmine and the Autobots could do little more than keep the lesser Decepticons occupied. The Power of Unicron With Unicron fully operational again, the war quickly moved beyond the power of individual Autobots to influence. As Unicron destroyed Blizzard Planet, most of the Autobot forces were sidelined by injuries, leaving only Landmine and a select few to keep up the fight. Despite Optimus Prime's insistence that they were only get themselves killed, Landmine and the others continued to strike against Unicron like gnats. Fortunately for them, they were caught in the backlash of Cybertronian Core energies when Primus supercharged Optimus Supreme to planetary proportions. Optimus Supreme Landmine and the others found themselves with new armor, and greater strength than ever before. They maintained strafing assaults against Unicron as Optimus Supreme grappled with him directly and Kicker assembled the energon towers for a powerful strike. During the clash, the Autobots spotted Mirage, Snow Cat, and Demolishor strapped onto Unicron's armor. Landmine rescued them, though he was sure to tie them up securely, lest they start up trouble again. With the towers, the power of Primus, and the teamwork of the Optimus Supreme combination, Unicron was finally defeated, his essence scattering to the solar winds. Unicron Perishes

Optimus suffered serious injuries after overtaxing his capabilities in battle, and so Landmine and the others watched over him in stasis on Ocean Planet. When Megatron resurfaced on Cybertron, however, Landmine joined the Autobots on the Miranda II in returning to Cybertron. Ambition They arrived on Cybertron and battled the newly enhanced Galvatron until clouds of Autobot-killing energon gas were released into the atmosphere, driving Landmine and his friends to retreat. Wishes The Miranda II moved to the upper atmosphere, where the Autobots prepared to drop Kicker and the Omnicons (who were immune to the energon gas flooding the planet) down to the world below. Galvatron and the Decepticons attacked, and Landmine fought to delay them long enough for Cliffjumper to get the Miranda II into position for the drop. Galvatron!

When Kicker succeeded in opening a hole in the gas, Landmine was briefly seen among the Autobots who waited above the planet with Rodimus while Optimus Prime led a squad down to the planet below. Break Through

At some point, in a virtual combat simulator, Landmine and Cliffjumper were pitted against Optimus Prime and Wing Saber. Two rank n'file Autobots who can't combine against a legendary hero and his combination partner. Ooooo... no chance. Optimus and Wing Saber barely needed to make an effort to bump Cliffjumper and Landmine out of the tournament. Distribution

As Cybertron began moving through space towards the warpgate for Alpha Q's worlds, Landmine and the others attempted to gather enough space debris to slow it down, but to no avail. Six Shot had modified an energon tower into a planetary laser, which blasted cleanly through their defenses. The Omega Train Jetfire was injured in the blast, and Rodimus ordered Landmine to return him to Ocean Planet for repairs. Decepticon Army

In the next stage of the Autobots' plan, they went to work devastating the energon towers under Decepticon control. Rodimus, Prowl, and Landmine reunited as a commando unit, fighting against Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus. Landmine demonstrated impressive strength in his Brute Mode, holding off Steamhammer in hand-to-hand grappling. Galvatron Terror When Galvatron assumed unbelievable size thanks to Super Energon, Team Rodimus attempted to mitigate the damage he was causing before he abandoned the planet. Galvatron began towing Cybertron out into space, and Landmine's team continued to war with the Decepticons, fluttering around Galvatron like skirmishing insects. Galvatron's tether to Cybertron was eventually cut by a team led by Kicker, but Galvatron continued forward. Destructive Power

Landmine rode Wing Saber like a surfboard, as he continued to battle around the now space-borne Galvatron. When the battle moved beyond their ability to contribute, Landmine and the Autobots kept in a holding pattern around Jungle Planet as the massive Optimus and the Unicron-possessed Galvatron made war on each other. Spark

Prime could not overcome Unicron on his own, however, and needed the Combination Sparks of all his fellow Autobots to face the final conflict. Rodimus led the Autobots in stepping forward to give up their individuality for the greater good of the team. Landmine's body was converted into pure energy as he became one with his spark, so that it could in turn become one with all the other Combination Sparks, revitalizing Optimus. Filled with the strength of all his men, Optimus united with Omega Supreme in the ultimate Powerlinx, grappling with Galvatron until the Decepticon leader shrugged off Unicron's influence and plunged into the sun. Landmine and the other Autobots then separated, and were restored to their individual forms. The Sun

The ever-lovin' blue-eyed Landmine!

Ten years later Cybertron was once again under threat, this time by a powerful black hole that defied Cybertronian science. Landmine was now under the direct command of Optimus Prime as they prepared to evacuate to Earth. After the time-travelling Vector Prime arrived bringing hope to their home-world's darkest hour, Starscream attacked the Autobots as a distraction while Megatron manipulated the naive Vector Prime. While Starscream managed to beat off several Autobots, Landmine easily counter-attacked the Decepticon subcommander until he backed him into a wall. Unfortunately, gravitation instability momentarily distracted Landmine, giving Starscream the opportunity to blast him into the path of the black hole. Fortunately, Vector Prime had sensed Landmine's peril and opened a warp gate. Landmine travelled through it and crash-landed on Earth, to be found by the human children Lori, Coby and Bud Hansen. Fallen

Awakening, he quickly befriended the children, in particular the mechanically gifted Coby who performed minor repairs to the aging Autobot. However, Landmine and his new friends had to keep ahead of the curious adults who arrived to investigate the apparent meteorite crash and the 'Bigfoot'-like footprints the Autobot had left in his wake. Trouble arrived in the form of Thundercracker, who set fire to the forest with complete disregard for human collateral damage in an attempt to destroy Landmine. Bravely, the damaged Landmine leapt to the defense of the children until Optimus Prime arrived to defeat the Decepticon and extinguish the blaze. Inferno

Due to his still healing injuries, Landmine was assigned to oversee the Autobots' new Earth base. Haven Hidden Feeling inferior due to not being able to assist in the search for the Omega Lock, he eventually set off with Coby to search for an altmode before being fully repaired. Landmine scanned a bulldozer and, despite his injuries, was able to hold off an attacking Starscream long enough for Vector Prime to announce that the Omega Lock they had detected was not the real one. Landmine

Landmine next accompanied Overhaul, Optimus, and Vector Prime to the British Isles, where their search for the Omega Lock brought them to an ancient druid site. The site proved to be another dead end, and the group was once more attacked by Thundercracker and Starscream. The Decepticons this time were able to isolate the Prime's from their land-based troops, prompting Landmine to contact Jetfire for back-up. Jetfire had gotten himself tangle in another mission however, forcing the Autobots to think of alternative means to defeat their opponents. They eventually managed to lure the Decepticons close enough to the ground for Overhaul to get in a few shots, sending the villains fleeing. Space

Landmine was teamed up with Vector Prime to continue the search for the Omega Lock, but they returned from their excursion with nothing to show for it. That evening, Lori alerted the Autobots to a strange beacon emanating from a nearby forest, depicting the Lock's "Atlantis Pattern". Landmine and the team sped off to what seemed like a lucky break at last, only to find that the signal had been created by the Decepticons to lure them out of hiding. After preventing the rest of their ground units from being crushed by a rockslide of Thundercracker's making, Landmine stood back while Optimus clashed with Starscream. Jolt then alerted both teams that humans were approaching, and the Decepticons flew off to keep their presence a secret to the locals. The Autobots followed suit. Speed

As part of his healing process, Landmine sparred with his old pupil, Optimus Prime. When mining in the nearby Mount McDermott destabilized the area and threatened Rockville, Landmine rolled out with the other Autobots to save the humans without exposing their true nature. Tasked alongside Overhaul to deal with the disaster areas in town, he cleared rubble and downed power lines off the street so the humans could get themselves to safely. Collapse

Another lead towards the location of Atlantis pointed to the Sahara, and Landmine was eager to get out and get his hands dirty in helping the Autobots dig through the sands. Optimus ordered him to stand down, as he and Jetfire would handle this mission. Time

When the location of the second Cyber Planet Key was discovered, Landmine was one of two Autobots selected by Optimus Prime to travel to Jungle Planet to retrieve it, along with Overhaul. However, an attack by Thundercracker prevented Landmine from entering the portal before it closed, and Vector Prime's injury meant he was stuck on Earth for the time being. Search Still, he took this in stride, and accompanied the Autobots when they investigated an occurrence of the Atlantis Pattern in the Bermuda Triangle. Landmine helped excavate the Atlantis, in truth an ancient Cybertronian ship that had crashed during Earth's prehistory. The Decepticons came about to steal the find, and Landmine held off Thundercracker while Vector Prime kept the vessel out of Megatron's reach. Deep

The Autobots tracked the Atlantis to the dark of the Moon, finding it already being blitzed by Megatron and his goons. A mysterious newcomer then arrived to help the Autobots... only to turn on Jetfire and Landmine before dashing off. Despite this, the Autobots managed to retrieve the Omega Lock, at the cost of the Atlantis's destruction. Now in the Autobots' possession, the Omega Lock created a new space bridge. The Earth Autobots then immediately received a message from Red Alert, begging them to come to Velocitron. Landmine took the trip alongside Optimus and Vector Prime, Ship and helped save Hot Shot from Ransack and Crumplezone, two goons working for Megatron.

With Hot Shot injured, Landmine gave the rookie an angry speech about how he had endangered their entire operation by disobeying orders. Though apparently harsh, his rant was actually motivated by concern for Hot Shot's mental state; in getting him angry, Landmine hoped to snap Hot Shot out of his depression. It worked, and the two went on to compete in the Velocitron Grand Prix. Hero Partway during the first heat, Landmine and Red Alert guarded Hot Shot from Decepticon interference. Using trickery, the two Decepticons managed to leave the bulk of the Autobots behind, leaving them free to cause mischief nonetheless. Despite these two cutting out an entire bridge from the track, Landmine was able to make it to the finish line, allowing him to proceed to the next heat. Race

During the second heat, Landmine, along with Red Alert and Clocker, fell behind Ransack and Crumplezone; thus, they did not fall victim to Ransack's alteration of the road signs. Landmine alerted Hot Shot to the deception, allowing him and Override to get back on track and finish in the top three. As for Landmine, he forfeited the race to help counter the damage caused by Megatron's lackeys. Detour

While helping Hot Shot train for the next heat, the Autobots received a distress call from Jungle Planet. Landmine offered to go help Overhaul, as he had originally been selected for the mission to the savage world. Optimus Prime denied this request, instead opting to go there himself along with Vector Prime. Savage Two races later, Landmine called Optimus to tell him the result of the penultimate race, inadvertently allowing Sideways to escape from the team stationed on Jungle Planet. Sand After Hot Shot won the big prize, he helped fight off the Decepticons who came for the Velocitron Cyber Planet Key. Champion

Upon returning to Earth, when evidence of something strange in the Arctic was revealed, Landmine was particularly gung-ho to investigate, though ended up missing most of the action. Ice

He did eventually get to make a short trip to Jungle Planet, when that world's Cyber Planet Key reacted with Optimus Prime's Matrix and summoned all the Earth team to fight off Megatron. Trust

Back on Earth once again, Landmine accompanied Optimus Prime, Leobreaker, and Jetfire to the North Pole in search of the same strange anomaly. The found a mysterious cave and Landmine tried to fight off Starscream, but was easily beaten. When Starscream reactivated the Ancient Decepticons, Landmine tried to reason with them, saying that Earth was a much different place than it was when they were sealed. All he got for that was a mid-sentence punch in the chest Trap.

He was rescued by the rest of the Autobots and went on to fight against Starscream's forces, but was forced to retreat when the US Air Force entered the fray and did not distinguish between Autobot and Decepticon. Invasion

After the retreat, he and Hot Shot were sent out to look for the kids and Mini-Cons. They met Tim along the way, and he seemed like a decent chap. They met up with the kids and Mini-Cons, along with Dr. Suzuki, in short order, and returned to the Autobot base.

Landmine made a valiant effort to fight off Starscream, but like everyone else, got totally owned. Invasion Later, when Megatron and his followers returned to Earth, Landmine was thrust into battle against Mudflap, a former student of his. Landmine suffered a breakdown at having to fight his old friend, and refused to raise a gun even when the also-reluctant Mudflap attacked him. He had to be saved by Vector Prime. Revelation At this point, he apparently snapped out of his shock, and was able to hold off Mudflap to allow Vector Prime to transport the severely damaged Hot Shot, Red Alert, and Scattorshot to Col. Franklin's base. Critical It turned out he'd trained his former student very well and had a tough fight, but ultimately, experience won out over youthful recklessness, and Landmine beat Mudflap back through the dimension gate. He accompanied the rest of the Autobots to Starscream's island, Assault where he tried to engage Ransack but was outwitted.

He then took on Mudflap once again, and again tried to reason with his old pupil. Mudflap seemed to be somewhat moved by Landmine's words, but ended up deciding to remain loyal to Megatron, much to Landmine's disappointment. Starscream He then shot at Starscream a bit to give Optimus Prime and Wing Saber time to combine. United

Upon returning to Cybertron, he briefly apprehended Thunderblast, preventing her from shooting anybody. He shared a crack with Bud about how the humans had become the aliens, and when the planet apparently started to come apart, he was one of the few not to lose his head, instead trying to calm down Jetfire. Cybertron He expressed fear that he would be smitten for dragging his dirty feet around God's body, and when the Decepticons attacked, helped fend off Thunderblast. Balance

When Megatron was resurrected as a ghost, Landmine advised Leobreaker not to do anything stupid, but Leobreaker pointedly ignored him, leading to the creation of Nemesis Breaker. Darkness During the subsequent skirmish, Landmine, along with Crosswise, was one of two Autobots who first encountered Starscream, and promptly helped shoot him away. Escape

He subsequently returned to Earth with Crosswise, Lori, Coby, Six-Speed, and Reverb. While the kids went to tell their parents what they had been up to, Landmine drove around for a bit until Crosswise brought something to his attention.

That 'something' turned out to be Mudflap, who had abandoned the Decepticons and now, with no idea where to go or what to do, was vigorously crashing himself into a tree over and over again. Once again, Landmine pleaded with his old friend to return to the Autobots. Mudflap was initially hostile, even attacking Landmine, but was eventually persuaded come back when Landmine said that, even though Mudflap had made some stupid mistakes, he still wanted to restore their friendship.

That evening, Landmine went to observe the kids telling their parents they were going to Gigantion. Upset that the parents didn't believe their children's story an interstellar war between giant alien robots, he desired to transform right in front of them to corroborate the truth. Unfortunately, Optimus Prime ordered him to remain in disguise.

However, Optimus Prime arrived just a few minutes later along with Vector Prime and both transformed in front of the parents. Realising that there was no reason to stay in disguise any more, Landmine also transformed, and told them all about how much the kids had helped them in their past quests, with Coby constantly repairing his injuries and malfunctions as well as helping Hot Shot on Velocitron, while Lori was incredibly brave and even stood up to Scourge. This, along with testimony from the Primes, at last persuaded the parents of the truth, and he accompanied the team in the journey to Gigantion. Family

Before departing, Landmine worked with Override to reactivate Primus' weapons and defense systems. Titans He also too part in prepping the Ogygia for its journey, using his altmode to quickly move a large number of supply crates on board. Warp

Upon reaching Gigantion, he formed one of the search teams, along with Optimus Prime, Six-Speed, Coby, and Lori. When a careless crane-bot dropped a massive I-beam on the kids, Landmine heroically leapt in to save the day, catching the beam on his shovel. However, the weight of the beam was too much to handle, and he started to deform under the strain even when Optimus Prime lent a hand to support. Fortunately, Metroplex was nearby to cut the beam in two and save them. After that, Coby had to patch him up yet again.

He should probably get his everything looked at.

Landmine accompanied the rest of the Autobots to a lower level of Gigantion when they received word that Menasor had surfaced; when the Decepticons stepped out of the shadows, Landmine took on Thundercracker, though the latter was quickly defeated by his own overconfidence. Titans He later took Leobreaker and Snarl to search for data about Gigantion's lower layers, but all they succeeded in doing was being the first to get trounced by the re-Galvatronized Megatron. Fury

He was assigned to the backup team when the Autobots descended to the lowest layers of Gigantion, and came to help when Jolt was threatened by Ransack and Crumplezone City. This team eventually worked their way to the heart of the Lemuria, where Landmine claimed the Gigantion Cyber Planet Key and remarked on how for once, finding it was easy. Naturally, Starscream chose that moment to burst in on them and start whaling on Landmine.

However, Landmine tapped the power of the Key and grew to enormous size. He then proceeded to take his revenge on Starscream for the injury suffered all that time ago, as well as beat up Galvatron, before returning to his normal stature. Optimus Unfortunately, Galvatron managed to make off with the Omega Lock anyway, leaving the Autobots stranded on Gigantion. Showdown Landmine worked with Quickmix and Menasor to restore the Lemuria, so that they could return to his own universe with the aid of Vector Prime's heroic sacrifice. Guardian

After returning to Cybertron, he participated in the fight against the Decepticons, Homecoming paying particular attention to Thundercracker, End and subsequently helped push the Ark's engine back into position to restore Jungle Planet to its proper location. Unfinished

After the closing of the Unicron Singularity and the death of Galvatron, Landmine and the reformed Mudflap participated in the construction of the new space bridge network. They were assigned to leave on the Ogygia; however, shortly before departure, they received a message from Wing Saber in deep space, who had discovered that Starscream apparently hadn't perished on Gigantion as originally thought. With Optimus Prime's permission, the two left the mission to track down Landmine's old nemesis. Beginning

Galaxy Force manga

[edit]

Landmine and Optimus attempted to fight off Megatron on Cybertron as a giant black hole neared the planet. The Decepticon proved to be an devastating force, with his energy attacks overwhelming both Autobots at once. Landmine's arm was badly injured when he tried to come to Optimus's aid during one such attack. Then, Cybertron collapsed under gravitational strain... But thanks to Vector Prime's intervention, all three combatants were saved from certain death, and whisked away to planet Earth. They were all separated during the trip, with Landmine crashing down into a wooded area and losing vitality quickly due to his injuries. Coby, his brother Bud and their friend Lori came upon the downed Transformer, and Coby set out to repair him with parts of their broken-down car. Though Coby worked tirelessly, he simply didn't have the tools or the knowledge needed to adequately care for Landmine. Fortunately, Vector Prime then turned up and used his abilities to restore Landmine to full health.

As the children began questioning the Transformers on who they were, Megatron joined the scene with a barrage of missiles. Optimus was soon upon them as well, tasking Landmine with safeguarding the children while he dealt with his nemesis. Megatron was successfully driven away, and the children showered their saviors with thanks. Touchdown! Optimus Prime

Cybertron toy bios

[edit]

An alternate universe incarnation of the Mini-Con Dirt Boss fell through a black hole-caused anomaly in space-time to Earth. Thankfully for Dirt Boss, Landmine detected his distress signal and found him first. Landmine took Dirt Boss under his protection, determined to keep the Skyboom Shield out of Megatron's hands, help Dirt Boss find his lost comrades, and return Dirt Boss to his home dimension. Energon

[edit]
These hands are made fer hurtin'.
  • Landmine (Command Class, 2004)
  • Takara ID number: SC-15
  • Takara release date: April 22, 2004
  • Accessories: Trailer/"Gunnery Station"/backpack & gauntlets, missile
  • Known designers: Eric Siebenaler (Hasbro), Takio Ejima (Takara){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Energon Command Class (Ultra) Landmine transforms into an orange, blue, and grey Cybertronic half-track battlefield recovery vehicle. The front of the vehicle features a large plow while the rear has a rotating crane with a working winch, accompanied by a spring-loaded missile launcher. The front half of the vehicle can separate from the tracked portion as a smaller truck cab, and can transform into the standard robot. The tracked portion can then be reconfigured into a "Gunnery Station" that Landmine's robot mode can man. It can also be transformed into a small tank-like vehicle (see below in Landquake's stock photo.) Most of the crane is detachable, possibly for safety reasons, as it doesn't appear to attach anywhere else. His roof features a spark crystal as a port for an energon chip.
In robot mode, Landmine has no weapons, but his standard 5 mm fists can hold any energon weapons or other weapons sporting a compatible peg system. In the dead center of his chest is his spark crystal, over which an energon star can be attached. As a red Powerlinx Autobot, Landmine cannot combine with any other Autobot except for the rear "trailer" half of his vehicle, forming his "Brute Mode" (or Powerlinx Landmine). The tracks, with their flip-out digger claws, mount on his arms while the remaining portion forms a weapons backpack. Connecting the backpack to Landquake will depress a button which activates the classic Generation 1 transformation sound effect.
The Takara Super Link release removed the electronics from his Brute Mode backpack. The orange plastic was also changed to a metallic orange, and the blue plastic is a darker, much more saturated shade.
This mold was later redecoed into "The Powerlinx Battles" Landquake (also listed below) and Timelines Landshark. This toy was also repurposed as Generation 1 Landmine in the 2005 IDW continuity.

Minequake? Quakemine?
  • Landquake (Command Class, 2004)
  • Accessories: Trailer/"Gunnery Station"/backpack & gauntlets, missile
  • Known designers: Eric Siebenaler (Hasbro){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Landquake was repurposed as Landmine's powered-up form in the Energon cartoon.
A redeco of the Energon Command Class (Ultra) Landmine toy in white, brown, and blue, Energon: The Powerlinx Battles Landquake transforms into a Cybertronic half-track battlefield recovery vehicle. The front of the vehicle features a large plow, while the rear has a rotating crane with a working winch, as well as a spring-loaded missile launcher. The front half of the vehicle can separate from the tracked portion as a smaller truck cab, and can transform into the standard robot. The tracked portion can then be reconfigured into a "Gunnery Station" that Landquake's robot mode can man. Most of the crane is detachable, possibly for safety reasons, as it doesn't appear to attach anywhere else. Landquake sports a "mountain" logo that would subsequently be seen again on Cybertron Brushguard, although no particular meaning behind it has ever been indicated.
In robot mode, Landquake has no weapons, but his standard 5 mm fists can hold any energon weapons or other weapons sporting a compatible peg system. In the dead center of his chest is his spark crystal, over which an energon star can be attached. As a red Powerlinx Autobot, Landquake cannot combine with any other Autobot except for the rear "trailer" half of his vehicle, forming his "Brute Mode" (or Powerlinx Landquake). The tracks, with their flip-out digger claws, mount on his arms while the remaining portion forms a weapons backpack. Connecting the backpack to Landmine will depress a button which activates the classic Generation 1 transformation sound effect.
Despite being utilized as Landmine's upgraded form in the cartoon, a toy in Landquake's color scheme was never released in Japan.

Cybertron

[edit]
Cyber Key activates BLADES OF FURY.
  • Landmine (Deluxe Class, 2005)
  • Takara name: Guardshell
  • Takara ID number: GC-09
  • Takara release date: January 20, 2005
  • Accessories: Launcher, missile, Earth Cyber Key
  • Cyber Key Code: dr94
  • Known designers: Eric Siebenaler (Hasbro), Takashi Kunihiro (Takara){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Cybertron Deluxe Class Landmine transforms into a yellow, wheeled front end loader with an articulated shovel. He also has a rear-mounted spring-loaded "pile driver" launcher, which becomes a hand-held weapon for robot mode.
His Cyber Planet Key gimmick is a bit unusual for this line, as it is not part of a spring-loaded gimmick, and it works like an actual key: by plugging a Cyber Key into his rear wheels and giving them a twist while holding the tire, small blades swing out from the middle of each tire. (It is possible to deploy the blades without an actual Key, it's just used for leverage.) This makes it kind of hard to roll him in vehicle mode, thus he has a third "attack mode": these wheels flip up 90 degrees around the pile driver, which pushes them against a rubber thumb-wheel assembly which spins the tires when turned. Small wheels in his feet help keep the "attack mode" upright and mobile. This assembly ends up on his back in robot mode, and can be flipped up behind his shoulders.
Takara's Galaxy Force Guardshell release uses different shades of plastic from Hasbro's Landmine, and most notably, many of his grey parts are coated in metallic silver paint.
It is highly likely that this toy had locking pegs on the backs of the legs at some point in development: a pair of unused holes are still present directly above the folded legs in vehicle mode, on the underside of the rear wheel assembly. Stock photos depicted Landmine with red blades on the tires (as seen in a few scenes from the Cybertron cartoon), but the final toy had unpainted blades.
This mold was redecoed to make Timelines Rhinox and the live-action-movie series Grindcore, the latter of which was later repurposed as Shattered Glass Scoop.

Attacktix

[edit]
When you got a condition, it's bad to ferget yer pills.
  • Landmine (Booster, 2006)
ID number: TF12
Rarity:
Faction: Autobot
Class: Warrior
Special: Shootback - 12/26 (46%) success ratio
Point Cost: 30
Base Speed: 10
Attack Type: Prodder (Punch)

The Landmine Attacktix figure represents the character's Energon Brute mode, and is subsequently one of the bulkier Transformers Attacktix figures. He has four points of articulation (head, shoulders and waist), though his head articulation is difficult to access because of his crane.
Landmine's Special Power allows an immediate free attack for up to three in-play Mini-Con figures. This makes him especially effective when teamed with hordes of well-placed Mini-Cons.
This mold was also used to make Attacktix Landquake.
